Conuk Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 does the `cheat` startup not work in the free flight mission Dragon?
STP Dragon Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 You don't have the possibility to disable the cheat startup in the missioneditor. So the cheat startup have to work normally. But I noticed something new in 1.0.2. Before you begin with the startup you have to call the ground service for groundpower. Also you don't have fuel in the Freeflight missions. So you have to refuel befor startup. Conuk Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Thanks dragon for the time and effort. I did refuel but not the power so will try that.
a1adin Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 hi dragon, thanks a lot for these excellent training missions. they are very useful for beginner like me :D I really appreciate them very much. sorry if this is a noob question: each of your missions seems to have 3 version: easy, medium, hard or 3 different routes. can you tell me how to access the waypoints for each version?
STP Dragon Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 Hi a1adin, In every mission there are 30 Ka-50s. 10x EASY 10x MEDIUM 10x HARD If you load the mission in singleplayer you will join automatically in the "Player" slot, which is in the EASY group. In singleplayer it is not possible to join in the other Ka-50s. But all the targetareas of all groups are added in the ABRIS of all Ka-50s. Take a look in the briefing and you will find the targetareas. If you want to join to a Ka-50 of the MEDIUM or HARD group, you have to load the mission in multiplayer. Start the multiplayer and click to "Server". If you want to play allone set a password. In multiplayer you have a table with all 30 slots. Just join to e.g. "Ka-50 #2.1 MEDIUM" and your waypoints will lead you to the MEDIUM targetarea. Have fun :) Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK

a1adin Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 thanks for the reply. how do you choose the different routes on the freeflight training mission? or is it not possible in single player?
STP Dragon Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 @ TheMoose: Thanks & welcome :) @ a1adin: It is the same for every mission. If you want to join in an other Ka-50 with a other route, you have to load the mission in multiplayer. The missionpack is made for Online-squadrons. a1adin Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 can you give me some quick tips on how to acquire moving air target? I find this very difficult.
STP Dragon Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 You don't have many chances to kill a moving airtarget which is flying across your line. Your vikhr will hit only if the target is coming strate to you. Then switch to AA mode and make a laser-range-measurement directly before you launch the vikhr. The vikhr will explode in front of the airtarget for a good shrapnel effect. STP Dragon Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 Yes, it is very difficult. And you get nervous if you ever saw a Mi-24 firing wiht the gun... Feel free to join our STP-Server and Teamspeak to practice and ask questions. a1adin Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Hi dragon, your "Standard weapons, hard difficulty" training mission is, as you say: hard, but it is fun. :D I managed to kill 2 roland, but I get hit by the 3rd. do you have some tips on how to deal with it more successfully?

Find it before they find you. ;) Your important advantage is your range! Except hard SAMs like HAWK, there is no enemy in the game which has a bigger range than you and your Vikhr! Learn to use this advantage else you have no chance! Switch the weapon-control-mode to MANUALLY. So you are able to fire your weapons anytime you want. You don't need to get the enemy in a 7Km range for firing Vikhrs. The Vikhr is able to hit an enemy in a range of 9Km-9.5Km. A Roland will shoot you at about 7Km-8Km. So you can stay outside of his range. Edit: A Roland is using a laser. So if you get a laser-warning you are in range of the Roland and you have to break and get out of there. a1adin Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 hi dragon, I have switch the weapon-control-mode to MANUALLY, and it works! :D I can hit the target at 9-9.5km. however, there is another problem: even using 23x zoom, I find the target too small, so it is very hard to put the marker exactly on the target. It takes about 2 or 3 vikhr to finally get a hit. is this the correct way to do it?
takamba Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 (edited) Well, I am not Dragon, but I feel free to answer ;) If you fire your Vikhr at 9-9.5km you should aim the target a little bit higher than usual. At this distance the Vikhr lose energy because of the burned out rocket engine. This depends allways to your altitude in relation to the target. If you are high enough you can hit a target over more than 10km distance. Edited August 13, 2010 by takamba 1 DCS Rafale - please
STP Dragon Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 Thx takamba. @ a1adin: Make the target-marker as small as possible. I do this also for target's in close range...like a laserpointer. ;) Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK

Itkovian Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I believe that if you have switched your comms to the ground channel, your ground crewman remains plugged in to your KA-50 until you retune your selector. He does not like you taking off with him still attached! Interesting. I always thought this occurred because I didn't disconnect ground power and just took off. It's just that if you're not tuned in to ground crew, you won't hear him complain as you rip away the cables. :) Itkovian
manne Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Installation per Modman! Isn't it just copy/pasting the missions folder to the right location in Black Shark folder?
