bofman Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) I have just received my new MFDs and can't program them to emulate the OSBs in F4AF. There is no contoller software issued with them and no way to program them from within F4AF. Can someone here please help me with this. F4AF is the only flight sim I use. Have just learnt from another forum that that the buttons are programmed from the 'Setup', 'Keys' page within F4AF.I never knew that when you highlight a command from the list, it opens a new sub-page to allow consiging DOH Edited November 4, 2009 by bofman TM Cougar Hotas TM Cougar MFDs CH Products MFP Saitek Pro rudder pedals TrackIR IV with V software 2 x Bodnar BU0836X controllers

I received my MFDs in the past week and programming them ingame was a matter of 2 minutes. Search for the OSBs, click change, push the according button - done! You can also program the device by other means, e.g. with HIDMacro or SVMapper. Both programs are very easy to use and set up. Vekkinho Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I play Falcon 4.0 OF sometimes, in fact very rarely lately due to the lack of free time but when I received TM MFDs few days ago I paid more attention to OF. I programmed my MFDs to work exactly as MFDs in OF do and it's very easy to do from mapping within the game itself. Now as you switch between menus in MFD your hardware MFD buttons also change function accordingly! Very good, it sparked my plugs for OF again! With DCS:A-10C on the way these MFDs are money well spent! Edit: bofman, welcome to forums! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Feuerfalke Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Same here. :) The MFDs really improve immersion a lot, especially as you can play in 3D-cockpit most of the time. With my x-keys panel working as ICP this really paved my way pack to Falcon, which again is probably a nice preparation for the A-10C ;) MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
blaster454 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I wonder why there is no U.S. distribution yet? Are they selling well in EU? Feuerfalke Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Well, I've been watching the availability for some weeks now, before my prefered reseller got them. Apparently only small numbers are available, yet, and they are sold out quickly. Hopefully that is a good sign and hopefully they learn to distribute them in larger numbers in the US. And hopefully this is also a motivation for TM to release more information about the A-10C HOTAS soon! :music_whistling: MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
Vekkinho Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Yes, with Split Throttle, stick and MDF you're halfway into A-10C pit, add a buttkicker and set your petroleum can on fire for total immersion! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

olsonb2 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 This is probably answered somewhere else, as I haven't taken the time to read EVERY post, but is there a way to use the MFDs as functional supporting displays for Falcon AF? I understand you can program each button to accomplish a certain task; however, I want to know the level of difficulty/cost of making the sim as realistic as fesibily possible, i.e. real-time radar, weapons screen, etc. I hope this makes sense! I'm not computer savy compared to most!
SUBS17 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 You can do that you just have to get a 7-8 inch LCD monitor and the rest can be done with a Falcon mod which puts the MFD stuff on the LCD monitor. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]

MFDE does all the guages on the left monitor and the two MFD's. You need a second computer to run the MFDE shared memory client/server program. Works best with OF, MFD's are only in 2D pit with F4AF.
olsonb2 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Icarus2, that's how you answer a question! Very impressive! Your setup is definitely an inspiration for me!
