what more than a missile range and skhval angel to the target have to do with the ""C""Launch 'Authorized????

Your helo pointing towards the target, at least one VIKHR missle on board, an active laser, a weapons master-switch set to arm.

...and weapon system fed - switch right of the ejection seat switches.

 

If the parameters cannot be achieved, for example due to poor lighting conditions prohibiting a Shkval lock, you can set the weapon control panel to manual override and launch anyway - but note that in this case you might have to perform very careful corrections through the missiles flight.

Post a track where this occurs and we should be able to spot the problem. Without a track displaying all parameters it is a bit difficult to say what the mistake might be.

I've been looking for this for quite a while (not my fault, game came in Russian and I can't change it, so the control page is a no-go area, at least until I learn some Russian properly :()

 

I've only tried the quick-mission so far (Быстра Миссия, if I remember properly), and what I do is quite simple:

 

1. Master Arm On;

2. Shkval On;

3. Laser On;

4. Select Vikhr missiles (Or the rockets);

5. Lock on something (usually that stupid fuel truck behind the house, near the APCs);

6. Press the freakin' trigger;

7. Complain about DCS and the lack of some translation to it;

8. Press trigger again;

9. Press C;

10. Blow everything up with cannon;

11. Crash;

12. Press Recover (don't remember how it's called in Russian);

13. Start from 1 again.

 

Tried to set "Weapons Arm" on to see if it does the trick, but doesn't work as well...

 

Any clue?

The button for launching missiles/rockets is different than the button for firing the cannon. At work right now and can't check what the default assignment is.

If you can give the default assignment, maybe I can try to find it on the settings and just change it.

There are some layouts available on the forum (can't tell you where since I dont use it). But all keys are in a pdf file in the installation folder of dcs: bs. You should look in the 'doc' folder. That's where it should be.

Default is RAlt + space to release weapon

Will take me quite a while to map all them properly but, by the level of the sim, it's obviously worth the price :D.

 

EDIT: Just shot my first Vikhr! First one was a test accident (it exploded in a mountain), second one was a mean one (using anti-tank missiles against a single soldier in open air... Oh, nasty one :D!) Rockets were also a lot of fun, and I managed to explode quite a lot of things with them (still a bit* inaccurate, but nothing training can't resolve). For those with similar trouble, the default button is your joystick's button number 2. I'll spend some time mapping some of the controls properly - holy hell, they're just too many!

You don't actually need a "lock" (TA) to fire a Vikhr. The Ka-50 is happy to guide a missile onto an innocent bare piece of ground.
