jflatto Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I have an X-52 Pro running on Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit. I am using SST 6.6.6.9. (latest version I think). I have created a profile using the Saitek software. I have it selected as the active profile and the profile name is appearing on my Status screen on the Throttle panel. However when playing the game, none of the commands are working other than the axises. I do not have the commands set inside of Black Shark since the Saitek software should be sending the right commands. When I look at the Saitek profile editor, when I press on the buttons on the joystick/throttle, the correct buttons are highlighted on the software. Am I missing something obvious?? Also inside of Black Shark, how do I set whether I am playing the instant action as either "real" or "game" mode? I am trying to flip between them to see if that impacts the joystick settings. To be honest, while I like my X-52, I have always hated the Saitek software. With their magic mouse and keyboard, the software always seemed more problematic that other companies such as Logitech. (I am too casual a player to justify the Thrustmaster Hotas's cost.) Thanks. Jerry
liotczik Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I have X-52 Pro on Windows XP Pro 32 bit and SST driver 5.7.0.22 and SST software 4.3.4.17, so my experience may differ. Now it works perfectly, however I've tried the latest drivers and all went fubar, so I've switched back to original older drivers, I've got on CD with the stick. I understand, that you want to play on Realistic. It's important, because there may be differencies between Real and Arcade sets of keyboard commands. Run Black Shark and go to Options -> Controls tab. Ensure, that you have selected "Ka-50 Real" profile in a drop-down list in the upper left corner of menu. Do not change any of the key assignments! Then move to Gameplay tab and UNCHECK options "game flight mode" and "game avionics mode" (the rest settings in this tab are up to you). After that CHECK "use this options for all missions" and press [OK]. Take note as to what keys or combinations of keys on your keyboard are needed to perform tasks you want to assign to X-52 and make sure that you have correctly assigned them onto proper joystick buttons. Also check if Windows "see" the buttons at all (SST -> Control Panel -> red lights should lit on after a button is pressed). You may also try my profile :)Black Shark.zip [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Originally Posted by Death-17 Any yahoo can fly fixed, it takes skill to fly rotor.
MTFDarkEagle Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Did you program the key commands in the sst software? (shift+r or something like that), and is that same command present in the game? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
astrospud Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 right-click on the tray icon and right-click on the profile you want. Then click on "Set as startup Profile". If need be, restart your machine. your SST software should start on windows start up. I strongly suggest that you remove (move to a safe location) the file lua-direct_output.dll found in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\stable. This file has initially been the cause of "Bad Pool" Blue Screen deaths on my Vista 32 machine. You should also use the latest drivers. Download them, unplug your FCS, uninstall the SST software, install the drivers, install the latest SST software then plug in FCS when asked. If need be, disable the Directinput process as well. This will shut down your MFD display, but it shouldn't impact your gameplay. Rectum non bustus
Sarge55 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I have a X52 Pro running on Vista 64 no problem, so it is possible. I agree the software is a pain to work with. I program the Axis in game and all the buttons in the software. Check out the Saitek website as well, they have a pretty good forum for the various problems that have come up. These are the driver and software versions I'm using. Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_SD6_64.exe SST_Software_64_6_6_6_9.exe Note the 64 in the sequence. jflatto Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 Thanks all. Reinstalling the driver did not seem to help. I am going to program my X-52 inside of Blackshark and not worry about the Saitak software. It will help decrease my frustration level and allow me to actually spend more time playing the game that fighting the Saitek software. Again, for the price, I love my X-52; I just wish there was an alternate software than the Saitek software. Jerry
Ramstein Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 when the Saitek profiles are loaded into Windows, and the Saitek profile selection shows up in the Windows tray on the right bottom on your computer screen,... before you start BS, are you selecting the Black Shark profile?
