Well I thought I was a into flight sims but.....

For me, I'm learning as I go. Fortunately, DCS has very good tools (such as permit crash receiver, and the ability to mix arcade+real control keys for both avionics and flight regimes) for hands-on trial-by-flying/trial-by-fire learners like me. But I think improvement to training missions would be a nice addition in the future..

I agree interactive training is great and very effective way to learn others but i think it is hard to program. I also agree that if ED wants to have more players able to play andbuy BS or other sims they have to make training more understandable and easier for complete noobs. Those producers notes are huge improvement in dcs series, it helped me a lot to learn.

without x52 , its impossible.

Quite wrong. :) Plenty of people don't use the X52 including myself and we fly just fine. ;)

Better to say you recommend the X52.

After all the stick is only ever as good as the pilot holding it..:P

There's a screen grab floating around here of the A-10 cockpit with a nice interesting looking green double arrow pointing to a location off screen. It's been teased this is most likely a NEW training process.

Speculation of course, most of us I think learned through the producer notes that were released pre release. Having followed this sim years before it's actual release I'm sure many combed over the producer notes enough to memorize it virtually by the time the sim released ;).

No matter what you're not going to learn the ropes on a sim like this in a single sitting. <--- That's why I love it so much :) Learning to fly is actually better than flying ;) (not really, but really you know) :)

Yeah, look at me...I bought a Saitek kit and I can barely keep up with you!;)

Agreed, in that the kit is secondary to the one piece of kit that will make a pilot - your mind. Learn up as best you can.

I can also personally vouch for the "buddy" system. Fly with folks who are not afraid to help you through. Combine that with the manual, producers notes, and self-paced practice.

Ok, i had a logitech wingman 3d, it was impossible to control the BS with this stick for me, after switch to x52 it was like night and day.

Maybe i am not as skilful as you :-)

I guess at the end of the day people become familiar with whatever control stick they have... There is no wrong or wright.. Whatever is good for the individual.. ;)
