I've seen a few posts concerning how radio chatter would enhance DCS. I listen to the local police scanners to stay in-the-know, but recently came across a site that provides live Air Traffic Control feeds. I leave a few of the more interesting U.S. Air force channels open, or sometimes Moscow Approach, during game play to add to the immersion.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Most welcome. Also, when I'm not listening to ATC chatter, I listen to a Pandora station I put together that reminds me of the 1995 Jane's ATF music. Anyone remember the Trance/Techno tracks that they put in that old sim? They were great! The channel I put together in Pandora is called NanoTechnology Radio. I think it's quite good.

Sure thing. Btw.. if you don't want to mount them in that flash applet, you can go directly to the feed via your default MP3 player through the following links:

http://d.liveatc.net/uuee_r_app.m3u

http://d.liveatc.net/ksuu.m3u

I use these links on my iPhone. It opens them in Safari(to player), but allows you to continue to listen if you multi-task.

dos not work for me. wish it did.

It may be working, but you won't always hear something going on. If you're receiving an error please share and maybe I can help.

Chatter at Travis AFB can get thick as it's the Air Mobility Command base, but sometimes it can be dead. If you aren't getting much from a channel, run more than one at a time.

If you want some heavy civil chatter check out Chicago Ohare tower @

ATC in iTuens, that's great.

So bad that in germany it's not allowed to hear ATC and therefore it's not published!

LiveATC is the shizzle. You guys might want to check out http://www.atcmonitor.com/ too. It's Altanta Center and TRACON only, but it also has radar feeds as well (links on the left side of the site).

My TRACON used to be on LiveATC - Pensacola Approach (KPNS) - but the guy who sponsored the feed moved. When I started training there I used to go back into the archives and listen to myself in the archives to do self-critiques. I've also heard a bunch of my ATC friends from around the country on there.

The last time I flew out of Miami, I listened to the tower taxi us around the airport and clear us for take off. I had downloaded a web radio app for my cell phone which could play the LiveATC MP3 streams. I ignored the "Turn off all security devices" warning and just played it through my headphones.

They say there's *supposed* to be a 5 minute delay for security reasons, but that's bull. As we're holding short of the runway, I heard the tower say, "American 123, hold short runway eight right, traffic landing runway eight right, company Triple-7, short final." Ten seconds later I see the American Boeing 777 touch down. Once he exited the runway, we were cleared for takeoff.

As previously posted on this thread there's a page HERE that has recordings of exercises at Nellis.. it's awesome! I do prefer the live ATC while I'm in BlackShark though.. I feel somehow more immersed.

I listened to a flight emergency from a KC130 flying into Travis this morning and had to pause Blackshark. They had a dead rudder, but landed safely and without incident.
