trujillostm Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I think it's very interesting to add night vision on the shkval. Like a modern update of a ka-50 vision system... The NVG on the head and the shkval night vision system.
159th_Viper Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Variant: Ka-50N (Nochnoy). Will it be modelled? Not anytime soon I would think. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Boberro Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Game is based on open LUA. So I don't think it should be difficult for people who know LUA well and know DCS file structures ect. So even without ED if server would alow it we could have night Ka-50... Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... The NVG on the head and the shkval night vision system. I'm looking on how to get a FLIR image on the shkval! The game already has the files for IR in various folders! I spent some hours on changing stuff around in the shkval files but had no luck!
isoul Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 This ability (FLIR) is included in Ka-50N or Ka-50Sh. Both of them won't be modeled soon, if it ever will! Community may find out how to make Shkval display IR images but will it be an accurate model of Ka-50N or Sh variants?
trujillostm Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 I think only is needed to put NVG in shkval, in the same ka-50 cockpit. Don't need to create a new 3d model.
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Yes unless I understand differently the only difference is avionics right? http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
Hunt3r.j2 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Sensors are different, so the model wouldn't be very accurate.
