Track was no good though. better next time..

 

But here are some pic's

 

First picture was just after take off, second we landed on kuz to refuel and rearm (to blow up a bridge later on) (note the shark below me that landed underneath me without me knowing :|), third picture: firing some missiles, fourth same or something :P

Nice thread MTFDarkEagle, I hope it will grow on tips for leading pilots aswell for wingmans. It is most important in a formation that all squad has the same trimmings and fly mode thus hard to setup in a freeflight conditions.

I'm after takeoff switching into Route Autopilot mode for stable speed around 150km/h and heading. I'm aware that when HDG HOLD is disengaged before turn some force still left in autopilot and it creates small fluctuations of turning ratio. But still its safer than trimming for the whole turn as far as mine skill isnt there yet.

I would welcome some advice for smooth flight transitions that are easy to comunicate throughout sqad?(ie. from hover to level flight and back to hover)

 

With friend we use some codewords for cyclic and colective positions like levels1-5(first level means diamond shaped indicator stands on horizontal line and every other is one lenghth of diamond above or to side) as we can have similar takeoff setup and control reference for inflight corections.

We started to fly on flyby waypoint mode so the autopilot does the job 100% corect if trimmed well. Fom there we continued to make the turns in desired heading hold with Heading hold OFF swithing On when disired heading reached. I hope now the trim through whole turn is at hand.

I would like to find the proper methods and learn what they are,, distance between helos and what types of formations.. etc..

To start with, I would fly in sp with 3 wingman's, and let them take different formations, so you can get a good look at them and the distance between them. Also, in the manual (cant look up the page at the moment) a couple of formations are given, with distances between the helo's. This is near the end of the manual

 

And (as last :P) go online. If you find someone flying in formation, fly along them at a distance so you can study, and when the chance is given, ask if they can teach you to fly formations.

I had some time today to view this mission and fool around with screenshots...

 

Both bombing runs were inefective but a great exercise.)

We need more practice so let's do that again soon!)

Next time I capture more problematic situations inflight so we can study the errors.

The biggest challenge with formation flying in Black Shark is frame rates. I cannot maintain FPS =>30.

Also if you fly with only 3 other pilots?

 

If a mission is full with like 8 choppers, I also get low FPS when they are in view. Still though, flying in a 4 ship is no problem at all.
