yendor Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I purchased the retail DVD of DCS:Black Shark in December 2009 and successfully installed, activated, patched and began learning/playing this truely amazing sim. Then, about a month ago, I de-activated the game so that I could do some sorely needed hardware upgrades; SATA HD, SATA DVD, mo'RAM, etc... I'm now at the point where I'm ready to re-install BS and resume my illustrious carreer and I get the following message during setup: Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer's author to obtain a new copy. More information at: http://nsis.sf.net/NSIS_Error I eject the DVD, and to my horror I discover an ugly circular gash about midway on the media!!! My old DVD player has taken slice out of my new favorite game. Please tell me that there's somewhere I can return this damaged disk for a replacement. I can also provide the PC BLACK SHARK REG CODE from the retail box and the Hardware Code I recieved from Starfoce when I de-activated the product. If someone could please point me in the right direction, the help would be greatly appreciated.
Frederf Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Most game publishers will replace damaged game media. Call the publisher and ask for "replacement media." Expect a free from 0 to $20 for the service.
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Wait a minute, can you get the Setup.exe and Data1.cab from the DCS website? The Disk version and the Download version were exactly the same. You would just enter in your Reg code when installing. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
joey45 Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 but you have to pay before you get to download it.... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. The new website of LockOn allows full download without paying (obviously you need to pay to get the serial). yendor Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 ...The new website of LockOn allows full download without paying ... That sounds great! My DATA1.cab is intact, along with everything else on the DVD, except for the Setup.exe file. Exactly what " new Lockon website" are you talking about?

No no, but that is only for LockOn, not for DCS:Ka-50 (at least yet, perhaps they will put this same system) AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
yendor Posted March 22, 2010 Author Posted March 22, 2010 .. arrrrgh .. .. you had me going there for a minute. Hopefully a Moderator will pop in with a happy solution for me in a day or two. :music_whistling:
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Well it is Sunday night in Russia, perhaps in the morning..... Sorry for getting your hopes up, it does seem you need to purchase to unlock the download page on the Black Shark Website. The new Lock On FC2 site has a torrent, anybody can use, to get the setup files for FC. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
yendor Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 :helpsmilie: OK... it's been a few days now. I'm officially appealing to any Moderator or someone from the ED Team to provide some sort of direction and/or help with replacing a damaged DVD. Yes, it worked flawlessly for 3 months... and yes, I've since replaced the old DVD player with a new one. I also successfully de-activated the installation with Starforce. Please read opening post on this thread for more information or send a PM. Thanks.
