rob86 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Hi. i am just getting into flying and am looking for a hotas system. ive trawled the forums and still cant decide which option is the best. the new saitek is probably out of reach of my budget but most other options are viable. any suggestions? in frustration, rob
Lancelot Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I´m a fan of the Thrustmaster Cougar, but i don´t recommend it if you are relatively new with flight sims, so my recomendatios are: 1) X-52 Pro 2) CH fighterstic and pro throttle. In none particualr order. They work all very well, and will be a lot more easy for you to configure the profiles. If you fly world war 2 sims, consider fast on acquire ruddle pedals. In my humble opinion, the pro flight ruddle pedals of Saitek are the best out there, at least that you want to expend A LARGE amount of money.
sobek Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Avoid G940 Pilotasso, if yours is spiking, send it back so you can at least get a new one. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I'd recommend the X52 system it's tried and proven and well priced. CH makes great stuff too but IMO is built more for hardcore simmers that don't mind spending an extra buck and need something rugged and reliable for years down the road. My original X52 though, has lasted almost 6 years and has bee good to me! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
McDaniel Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I also thinking about a new one, now I have Saitek X52 and I am very happy. Today I heard about Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas, which are looking perfect, obvious for the DCS A-10, they keep it very secret so far just some cutup pictures, anounced for spring 2010 release. :smartass: I will wait for them and then decide between: Logitech G940 ( hopefully problems are solved then) Saitek...this forcesensing new tool :-) Thrustmaster Warthog....since I was an Cougar Veteran :joystick: We will see! McDan out |AMD 7800x3D | 64GB DDR5-3600| GTX 4090 | Virpil Stick, Collectiv, WW MIP, WW Throttle, MFG Crosswind V2 | Windows 11 64-bit | SSD Samsung | 4K LG Oled 48 | Oculus Q3 | Simlab based Cockpit
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 The Thrustmaster A-10 HOTAS is definitely on my buy list but only if the reviews come in right. I'd actually recommend waiting until that HOTAS comes out until you make your decision. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
Lancelot Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I don´t think the Warthog as a good option for rob86 because most likely it will be in the price range ot the Saitek X65.
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 That's true and why I didn't mention it in my first post. But hey, it's another option to keep in mind (lol and worth saving for IMO). http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
*Rage* Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Yeah but where is it? Spring 2010 doesn't cut it with me. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
Lightning Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 (edited) I am also very excited about the new Warthog HOTAS and cannot believe that they are still keeping it top secret. No news about it anywhere in the internet ( at least i searched with google and bing ) Not sure if they really release it in spring...so i would assume that it will take until summer. Crossing fingers. That stick might be a revolution with its weight and precision ( HALL Sensor technology ). At least i hope so. I definatly will get one, as my Cougar is again spiking and i already changed all the pots a year ago. The pots are the weakest point of the cougar. And i am sure it wont be the weak point in the HOTAS Warthog. :joystick: --- ---:pilotfly: There are rumors that it will weigh 6 kg...a heavy beast of Metal. Price will be about 330 - 370 Euro´s Preorders for germany here : http://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/2002516_-hotas-warthog-thrustmaster.html Edited March 29, 2010 by Lightning best regards, GSG_9_LIGHTNING [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
