Training in FC 2.0?

I just bought, downloaded and installed FC2.0 and was going to start running through the training when I saw that the menu was empty. I checked the GUI manual that comes with FC 2.0 and saw in the example there (page 31) that they have all kinds of things there. I go back to my menu ingame and still nothing there but there is a 'Download' button, which is not described in the GUI manual but I click it anyways. Promptly I am set to the FC 2.0 homepage where there are a series of youtube videos linked.

This is not what I was expecting! I was expecting what the GUI manual showed me and what Black Shark has, which is an ingame tutorial session which allows me to practice afterwards!

Does anyone else have this problem? I did a quick search on this topic but ended with a bunch of stuff that appeared unrelated to this.

It appears that as of right now, all we have are the YouTube videos on the site. That might change in the future though.

Your answers are in this thread. The training page is empty because those are included in the boxed version and not in download version. You can download the video files separately if you go to the download section here.

But these are not much better quality than the Youtube and you certainly cannot fly them since they're not tracks but videos. And ED stated that there're no plans to release any other training materials.

For what it's worth, these trainings are not much different than the FC 1.1 training tracks. So if you already went through those, there's really no need to watch these.

That site appears to be missing the download for the Su-25T and the UPT sections...?

They are hardly useless. For one thing, not everyone is having as much trouble hearing the voiceover as you are and your perception of it may depend on your personal audio setup. Secondly, there are subtitles included for a reason and nothing stops you from pausing the video to read them. Having said that, I think we will reconsider using the "radio effect" for next time.

Again, this is probably due to translation. In some cases, the translated text and/or voiceover may have been somewhat longer than the original and this affected the timing. We tried to minimize this issue as much as we could.

I am sorry to say:

Even so FC2 is a great product worth the money without any doubt on my side, I have to agree that these training videos are really strange (poor sound & video quality) for a professionnal team of developpers which have produced a product for hardcore "simulation".

I do still not understand how it was accepted/agreed from Management to spend so much time for such a poor result.

ED would have better have payed Ironman to spend some time doing the training videos for u en EN.

But do not misundertsand me, FC2 stays a great product !

Speaking of training missions.. How do I set my missions in the editor to the evening? I cant seem to find an adjustable clock in the editor. Maybe I'm blind.
