Lio Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Id like F-16C, F-15E or F/A-18E. Id prefer the F-15 if ED think they can create a good experience with the dual seats, if not both F16 or FA18 will be cool. I just hope they dont do a pure fighter like the F-15C or something.

As for a Su-27, I know the devs want to do one, I'm sure at SOME POINT they might do one, but it will not be any time soon. Falcon 4.0 is almost 12 years old, and people are still adding content, just take a look at freefalcon for example, where the community is still quite active. If dcs would make the F-16 I think it would be an instant classic. Good multiplayer support, updated engine, coding expertise and knowledge about the jets, ... Everything is there to make a perfect F-16 sim. Getting rid of the old code base of falcon 4.0 would be the dream :)
BKLronin Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Mhm, they basically fly the f-16 because falcon was a very good sim (had the original 4.0 as well) If it where Hornet 4.0 instead of the falcon these days everybody would have been flown the hornet until now. There are only a few features left why the stay with falcon or it´s just the experience and their skill that keep them from changing to a new plane. We will see. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

The F-16 sim need although creation from the scratch .. the developers can take as a base the FALCON 4 core sys and Campaign environment and update /create the ultimate one so far ... DCS communities and Falcon 4 community could join each other for mass online playing ... If DCS F-18 or F-15 my opinion is that this join would not be done or maybe done partly ... F-16 cokpit builders are already create the Home F-16 hardware all we need is a correct and accurate F-16 sim ….. since there is economic crach globally the users would buy somethig that "already half created" … and not risk to buy something for test and if they do not like to abandon …I agree the F-18 is the feature but for that time of period the F-16 helps ALL!! I'm just thinking of importance of both planes. I just did a quick search and I found that the number built for F-18s is only 1480 compared to the 4450 units of the F-16s (if we can believe wikipedia), so I'm just thinking the F-16 would be more interesting since it is so widespread. Also the F-16 had quite some revisions over the years, so maybe it's easier to get real life info on the older blocks of F-16s. I just hope it's not going to be an F-15 or F-14 (at least not yet). A fighter jet with A-A and A-G modes would be the way to go I suppose. In fact A-A combat is not so common or virtually non existent, but I think that in the virtual skies A-A is really needed :) Other planes/helicopters that I would want to see in the future are bigger aircraft like the C130 or AC130, the awacs (E-3 or something), apache, ... Protecting the sentry, escorting a c130 etc would be kinda cool. Does anybody know how often DCS wants to release new planes? Is it their goal to make one plane every year or something? Scrape Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Janes released a good sim for the time in their last. Janes F18 avionics were very accurately represented. Where as a Super Hornet sim would be nice. (I think that given the quality of DCS sims we'd be happy with their choice regardless) I'd like to see a sim around the F-15E Strike Eagle Different in so many ways to the C model, and with the worlds most advanced and probably last true fighter bomber it would be a great aircraft to develop missions for. The possibilities are endless. It can do anything, and does everything well. Going one up from that. Allowing two players to fly in the same fighter. Never been done before for a fighter sim, right?
