ZoomBoy27 Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Here is a new quick and dirty guide to get people up-to-speed and running in the Su-25T. New-comers should find it useful to get the plane up in the air and ready to play with the buttons. It covers the majority of useful commands and tips. Up-to-Speed Guide to the Su-25T Any errors or problems, let me know. GregP Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 WOW! Nice page, lots of great information there. Zoomboy you seem to be doing it all these days! Thanks a lot, from a guy who's had ZERO flight time in the T since 1.1 came out (Real Life distractions) but DOES have internet access at work to at least READ about it .... :)
ZoomBoy27 Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 From feed-back I've received, I will be adding an auto-pilot/trimming section. Just need to do some research before completing it. ZoomBoy27 Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 Updated the Guide with the Auto-pilot(6 to 7 modes) and trimming info. Also included is a bit on the “Combat steering” mode. Ironhand Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Updated the Guide with the Auto-pilot(6 to 7 modes) and trimming info. Also included is a bit on the “Combat steering” mode. Excellent synopsis. One correction perhaps. It's been my experience that the autopilot modes "A" and "ALT-6" are identical. "A" no longer provides autothrottle. You must adjust the throttle for both. ZoomBoy27 Posted April 22, 2005 Author Posted April 22, 2005 Fixed some bits(thanks Ironhand,AStotzer and others) and I've also compiled some Mission advice(link at the bottom of Guide) which has an extra practice mission. ThirdELTPoznan Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Nice one... I hope 1.1 will be avaiable soon so I can try Su-25T, althought I fly more A2A. GROM- Grupa Reagowania Operacyjno Manewrowego
ZoomBoy27 Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 Do you have quick guides to the other planes Nope, just A-10 and Su-25T. Except for the Dog-fighting, Bombs to drop/Missiles to shoot, Combat/Navigation Modes sections, most of the commands are the same. ED Team Olgerd Posted April 23, 2005 ED Team Posted April 23, 2005 Great guide ZoomBoy27! Can I make some small corrections about autopilot modes? ALT-3 engages ONLY "Emeregency Leveling" mode and never "Combat Autopilot Mode". When your are in "Combat Autopilot Mode" with something locked by "Shkval" system, pressing ALT-~ you will get control ONLY over pitch. It is usefull for finall ingress at the target. When you will depress ALT-~ the autopilot will return your airplane at the initial altitude. The initial altitude is one wich was at moment of the mode turning-on ("A" key). Another one. Lock any point at ground by "Shkval". Then engage "Combat Autopilot" (By "A" key). Now you can leave controls and search targets by moving TDC - your plane simply will follow TDC movements. Also try same with strong crosswinds (something about 10-12 km/h). You will see that plane will get some lead angle to compensate wind. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? ZoomBoy27 Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 Great guide ZoomBoy27!... ALT-3 engages ONLY "Emeregency Leveling" mode and never "Combat Autopilot Mode". Thanks. So ALT-3 is not a whole auto-pilot mode but just levels you out and then puts you into Barometric Altitude Hold? I read the manual(pg 49) and it seems that way. Otherwise corrected as best as I can. When you will press "A" key from any non-navigational mode the "Emeregency Leveling" will be engaged instead of "Route". [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. ZoomBoy27 Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 Yes. Also "Emeregency Leveling" will be engaged automatically from "Combat" mode if you will break the lock. When you will press "A" key from any non-navigational mode the "Emergency Leveling" will be engaged instead of "Route". Corrected that as weel. I even gave Emergency Leveling Mode its own special font Woohoo!!!!! :icon_jook  ZoomBoy My Flight Sims Page - Link to My Blog - Sims and Things - DCS Stuff++ - Up-to-Speed Guides to the old Lockon A10A and Su-25T - Some missions [needs update]
ED Team Olgerd Posted April 23, 2005 ED Team Posted April 23, 2005 Thank you. :) Edit: Oops. "If you're on RTB - B3B or LDG - NOC modes, it merely gives you Emergency Leveling Mode. " RTB and LDG - are NAV submodes. So if you will press "A" there, the "Route" AUTOPILOT mode will be engaged. :D :D :D BTW: When these navigational submodes are turned on, autopilot follows your plane to return point, then navigational system automatically switches to LDG mode and autopilot will follow you by glideslope (at least will try to do it). At RALT = 50 m the autopilot will engage "Emeregency Leveling". So you MUST to disengage the autopilot (by "A" key) before this altitude if you wish to land. ;) I hope it will help. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 ZoomBoy, Do youknow how to drop all of the iron bombs at the same time on Su-25T? From what I figured, "ПО-1, ПО-2, ПО-3, ВСЕ", works on a pair of bombs at the time only? In other words "ВСЕ" would not release all of the bombs from all pylons at the same time. ED Team Olgerd Posted April 23, 2005 ED Team Posted April 23, 2005 You must to keep trigger depressed until last bomb in ripple was not released. This switch influences on weapons stations (not bombs) count from wich bombs will be released. I.e. you can not release a single bomb from MBD-67U MER. Only whole station. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Hi Olgerd, If I take just regular iron bombs an all pylons, the most I can release at one time is 2! Even with salvo switch in "ВСЕ" position! For the next two bombs to release, I have to release and depress the key on a keyboard (or a button on a joystick). What I want is to release all iron bombs, from all pylons at one time, with one keyboard or joystick button press. How do I do that? Or is ti possible at all? I tried with space bar, did not work. Then I remapped my joystick, that did not work either? ED Team Olgerd Posted April 23, 2005 ED Team Posted April 23, 2005 May be you have different types of bombs at different stations? The switch works only on currently selected type. Or may be unsimmetrical loading? Edit: Do you use ripple interval settings? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. Or may be unsimmetrical loading? Edit: Do you use ripple interval settings? YES, you are right! I've just figured it out! Only bombs of the same type will work in this mode! I've just tried it and it works perfectly fine! Thank you!
