What I miss about FC 1.2b

This is what I miss the most.

When flying online:

To pick you own payload that matches your assignment in the mission. e.g. I'll load up with GP bombs to take out the bridges, that stops the convoys. While someone else loads up on mavs and cluster bombs to hit the convoys.

To fuel up as needed. Less fuel for short hops to the fount lines, or to reduce weight. Full tanks with a external tank for long missions, such as a sneak attack on a enemy airbase deep in his territory.

To change the skin to a custom job, and to change the plane's number. I consider number 17 as my lucky number, and always change the default number to this one.

I miss the menu music.

 

FC2 music is alright, but 1.12 was perfect. :D

This is what I miss the most.

You can select fuel amounts when asking maintenance. I believe the options are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Also, you can dump fuel in air with the R key.

Press # for Radio Calls , then F7 for maintenance, F4 for Refueling

 

You can request fuel amounts from your ground crew as Crunch already said, but your engines have to be shut off !

Your request will not be accepted if your engines are running.

 

The choosable capacities are related to your Aircraft tank volume :

If you choose 25 % and actually have more than 25% of fuel in your tank, the crew will pump the fuel off until you got exactly 25 % of the tank volume.

 

As a Multiplayer client it is also possible to get different payloads, and requesting will even work with running engines.

Just stop anywhere on a the airfield and request maintenance ( #, F7, and then choose F1 for Payload, now you can choose between different payloads )

That means in previous versions you were able to customize the payload for your aircraft in multiplayer? Because what we see in FC2 are just a list of presets. While they work acceptably for pure fighters / interceptors, they do not work much for Su25T and A-10.

I miss where you can see your own payload and your own skin in the mission builder. Where in FC2, you have to guess by looking at the weapon's name. Who knows what is a AGM-34838 or FAB9928947 ?? let us see the real thing like FC1.......

Just to jump on the band wagon... I miss everything about the mission editor in 1.12, except the GUI. I still can't believe the sub-par distance tool, Lat/Long discrepancy, heading misalignment etc. As much as I want to like FC2, all the short comings of the ME are very annoying.

This is no problem...

From old FC 1.1 directory (<FC_DIR>\Sounds\Music) get file Main.ogg, and put it to <FC2_DIR>\Sounds\EditorMusic\LOP

If You wanna only new sound (old one from FC1), delete original file Lopster.ogg, because FC2 play random all sounds from that dir.

I've got in that dir about 10 files and it's perfect! Always wanted such 'player' in menu ;) Thanks ED :)

 

What I miss? Tail numbers, preview while select skin. Too less flying to say more about other things...
