Avilator Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Happy Easter, Everyone! I recently got Building Recreational Flight Simulators by Mike Powell. Reading the chapter on I/O options has me a little overwhelmed with options. Can anyone with pitbuilding experience share your thoughts on what cards I should use in my A-10C pit? Thanks! I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" CAT_101st Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 depends on how far you want to go with your pit. Do you want to have Lua out put to LCD screans or 7 segment, roterys diles, or do you just want to keep it simple with push butons and switches? We culd use a better idea of what you want to do with your pit. Deadman Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 for more information on cockpit building you really need to look at these sites http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/content.php http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/ https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Deadman Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Sokol1_br if you check on mikes site he has other references on the io card that may be helpful to Avilator https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

We culd use a better idea of what you want to do with your pit. I plan to go all out with my pit and make it as close to 1:1 scale as possible, within reason, of course. I am going to be using Lua output on screens and mechanical instruments (most of which I'm going to build myself.) To be a little more specific with my original question, is there any real difference in reliability or ease of use/programming (I'm a total newb in this department, but I have people that can help me) between different brands? Does anyone have first hand experience that would recommend against getting a specific brand? I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!"
