Conversion of Training Videos: LO - FC2

I'm not very familiar with .ogv files, but I did a bit of digging.

 

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a way to convert the training videos successfully, or play them back outside of the game, for that matter.

 

I'm guessing it's a codec issue, but I can play them through the game menu just fine, which seems odd.

 

I'm running Win7, and would rather not set up a dual boot for Linux just to convert a handfull of videos.

 

Anyways, I've got the Black Shark movies on my iphone, which is convenient, as I can review them wherever for a refresher.

 

I'd like to do the same with the FC2 videos, if someone would be willing to assist.

 

So far I've AVS Video Converter 6, to convert. I've also tried playback via Zoom, WMP classic, and VLC, unsuccesfully.

 

Even better yet, are they available for download anywhere in a format that would be compatible with common players?

VLC which you mention plays the training videos just fine on my machine. I would try to reinstall it and try again. Not sure what to use to convert since .ogg is a "container" meaning the files in it could be alot of different things.

I just re-installed VLC, and it does now let me play the training videos.

 

I'm still unable to convert them, or play them in other players, but it's a sign of hope.

OGVs in training videos are Ogg containters with Theora for video and Vorbis for audio.

 

You can convert videos with VLC (if you get through its weird user interface, though) or Handbrake (this is the easy one).
