Emmer Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Is there a sequence for dropping bombs? If so how do you do that? E.g: Like weapons select: W+LAlt Master Arm Switch O+RShift Laser Stdby Y and I Select hard point N Engage ground moving target S Select short/med/long H Targeting cycle O Select target Q Auto turn to target ,./; Skew target box Enter Lock Target Cannon Fire = [space] Release Weapons (ATGM/Rockets) = [space-RAlt] But then again for releasing bomb? MTFDarkEagle Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Relax ;-) Nobody can answer within your tight time-limit :-P (no offense). An answer will come. I however can't answer your question, sorry. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Frederf Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Assuming everything is on normally. Master Arm On Collective hardpoint select switch to inner-outer-all pylon pair(s) Altitude >200m RAD, pitch/bank within limits Press and hold weapons release trigger > 1 second
Avilator Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Frederf is correct. Another option you might consider is using the Shkval in gunsight mode instead of auto tracking. Just beware that it will point almost straight down because you are not moving fast enough for the impact point to show up on the HUD. As a result, the image will be moving very fast and it will show a relatively small area, so aiming will be rather difficult. You could climb and dive, but speed builds up quickly and you would need to climb dangerously high to get enough time to aim. I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Frederf Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Wait what? Gunsight mode points in line with the expected bomb target?!?
Emmer Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 re Ok, thank you all. My apology for my impatience. We just had our combined FC2 and BS flights this week. And i am enthousiast 'bout it. Was a bit ago since i flew the Ka-50.......... Anyways this is helpful as usual and wil help further mastering the Ka-50. Avilator Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Wait what? Gunsight mode points in line with the expected bomb target?!? Yes it does. You just can't see it on the HUD under normal circumstances because of the speed and altitude. Try setting up a mission with bombs and no threats. Climb to a few thousand meters, then push the nose way down. It's best to start this from almost a hover as speed builds VERY quickly. At some point, the reticule will appear on the HUD. It works the same as any other weapon in gunsight mode. Also, the weapons select dial on the right back wall must be set to the correct number, but this is taken care of if you set up the bombs in the mission editor. Otherwise, the numbers for specific weapons are in the manual. I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Frederf Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I've only tried the gun in gunsight mode... so little imagination on my part. I never thought to try it with rockets, bombs, KMGU-2, etc.
Logan9773 Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Well, gunsight works with rockets and cannon, but I don't think it works with anything else. Would make a good CCRP though if they would program it in. And if you use anything but the default rockets, you need to set the dial just to right of the seat telling the weapons computer what type of rockets you are firing so that it uses the correct calculation.
26-J39 Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Gunsight mode will only center the piper with the cannon centered... Nothing to do with rockets or bombs. You better of without it using bombs atleast this way your side slip in calculated into the piper, not that it's a CCIP piper by any means. Bal setting are pointless for bombs also.
