I would say W7 (W7 = patched Vista). Because it manages multiple cores better then xp. FC 2.0 can render sounds on different cores, so it's an advantage.

I see no advantage in using Xp if you have powerful PC.

I did serval tests with FC on XP and W7.

 

For my pc (3,2 GhZ Dual core, 8 GB ram, 260 GTX Nvidia) i have 3 more FPS on W7(64 bit), than on XP (32 bit). Maybe my system is not the best example to proove it, but i would certainly suggest to go with W7. :thumbup:

Win7 or Vista. Both have similar performance in games but 7 is faster in desktop and file management. Of course both x64 versions for better RAM and multicore CPU utilization (esp. in case when you have more than 2GB of RAm).
