Revelation Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 So I was thinking last night and I remembered an old bug from the LOMAC/FC days. There was a bug with multiplayer in-flight refueling; will this bug still be present in DCS A-10? Has this been fixed or is it a non-issue at this time? EtherealN Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 "A bug"? Could you be more specific? :) Which bugs may or may not exist at release is uncertain though. Remember that the new simulator is still under heavy development. MTFDarkEagle Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 "bug" lol :P Like EtherealN said ;) which bug? :) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
nscode Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Yeah, it's not a bug. Real aircraft can't refuel in multiplayer either :P Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
EtherealN Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I do aerial refueling in almost every MP flight in FC2. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

Tucano_uy Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 If I'm not wrong, I think that I read somewhere that there is (was?) a problem with MP refuelling if there is wind and the refuelling acft is not being flown by the host. Were you Revelation maybe referring to this?
hassata Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 where are you getting your MP fix? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Revelation Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Hey guys, the bug I'm referring to: During multiplayer, the refuelling baskets weren't visible but to only the host. The Host would have to connect and then, sometimes, the other players could see the baskets to refuel. To my knowledge it has never been fixed, although I've spent my time in BS since release so I may have missed the fix. Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT
Cougar Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Q: Will multi-player aerial refueling be supported in Flaming Cliffs 2.0? A: Yes, but with some limitations. 1) Player being the host of a multi-player mission and won't have any problem refueling from the tanker. Also, the player will be able to see the positioning lights (KC-10A), baskets (IL-78 ) and will be able to hear radio communication with the tanker. 2) Player connecting to a server will be able to air refuel with a few differences. -KC-10A limitation: No radio communication, no positioning lights -IL-78M limitation: No radio communication 3) Important note for air refueling with the F-15C, A-10A and "weather" options. Missions creator, if you're planning to add a tanker (KC-10A) to your multi-player missions, you will need to take in consideration the wind settings (Ground, 2000m, 8000m) under the "weather" tab options. Adding wind will prevent the client aircraft from connecting normally to the tanker as the autopilot will overcompensate for the wind and will make the air refueling impossible. You need to have wind set at 0 m/s at the altitude you're placing the tanker unit. 4) External tanks won't be refueled, only the internal tanks will be.

Great info on FC2.0 - basically nothing changed... What about DCS A-10C, the sim in question? Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT
