Game crashes to Desktop.

 

Recently I've been playing the Oil War campaign (Deployment was too dull for me) but I have not been able to complete ANY missions because about every 20-30 minutes the game gives me a "runtime error" and Crashes to desktop.

 

I have the latest drivers, ect. so that's not the problem.

 

Here are my specs:

 

Windows Vista 32 bit

3.0 GHz CPU intel quad core

ATI 4870 1GB video memory

4 GB of RAM

750 watt power supply

 

 

I have all settings on HIGH except for water (medium) and View Distance (low, because Vista is such a damn memory hog).

 

Help with solving this problem is much appreciated. :)

 

Also, I'm not sure how to attach that .crash file to this thread, it just says "invalid file"..

Edit: I renamed the .crash file with .txt.

One other thing; if I were playing the game without the disk in, would that be the cause of problems like this?

 

Since the game runs without it, I'd rather not have to bother popping in the disk every time I play if I don't have to.

Looks somewhat similar to the experience I am getting with multiplayer (the error code being of the access violation / uncaught exception varieties sporadically during play) but haven't tried this campaign since the patch.

 

This happens even with the first mission of the campaign? Which one specifically too, Georgian Oil War, Oil War - Chapter 1, etc.?

This happens most of the time on the georgian oil war on the first mission.

Just curious, is your game patched to 1.02? What kind of joystick/game controls are you using?
