nebuluski Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hi can anyone from ED point me in the right direction as to how I can program my real F16 MFDs which already have associated keys mapped to the OSBs (already being used in Falcon all flavours, as is, so do not want to change existing mappings)! I am not using directx nor do I want to. Also is there a master list of current keymappings PDF or Doc format would help? hassata Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 If I understand correctly, you can just go into options, keys, select the MFD button, then press the corresponding button on the unit to assign. If you're talking about the Cougar MFDs, those are plug and play. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
nebuluski Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Hi Hassata - thanks for the quick reply. I have already been in Options but there are no MFCD key options there to assign keystrokes to unfortunately hence my question. The MFDs I have are REAL MFDs interfaced using X-Keys. The TH MFDs are meant to be supported directly by DCS A10C from what I understand. hassata Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Sorry, I'm probably being thick, but cant you go into options, select MFDs from the pull down menu, select EG button 18, hit the corresponding button on your MFD which would generate a character (?) through x-keys and so assign? The pull down menu has an MFD tab where all the buttons are located-you can assign any key stroke to them [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
nebuluski Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) Hi Hassata - correct thats exactly the way I would do it IF there were the actions within controls for me to actually assign the keystrokes to, but if you look there aren't any MFCD actions (OSBs) in the list - hence my original question! The same applies to the ICP too! hassata Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Sorry Neb, I'm not at the computer, but did you try scrolling to the right? Think it goes MFDs, then Joystick, then Mouse, then Keystrokes? Feel free not to respond if this is getting inane lol [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team Alex Okean Posted October 5, 2010 ED Team Posted October 5, 2010 All input profiles are still WIP , so you have two ways : wait for next beta update ( remember 2 weeks ) , or make your own profile by using your own hands and text editor MFCD OSBs currently binding to Cougar MFD preset , you can copy and paste kestrokes from this preset to your default keyboard preset ( default.lua ) and then assign any key using input options MFD preset are stored in Config/Input/Aircrafts/A-10C/joystick/F16 MFD 1.lua and Config/Input/Aircrafts/A-10C/joystick/F16 MFD 2.lua example for left MFCD ( F16 MFD 1 ) {combos = {{key = 'JOY_BTN1'}}, down = iCommandPlaneLeftMFD_OSB1 , up = iCommandPlaneLeftMFD_OSB1_Off, name = 'Left MFCD OSB 01', category = 'Left MFCD'}, remove "combos" field like { down = iCommandPlaneLeftMFD_OSB1 , up = iCommandPlaneLeftMFD_OSB1_Off, name = 'Left MFCD OSB 01', category = 'Left MFCD'}, and insert it to Config/Input/Aircrafts/A-10C/keyboard/default.lua after line 371 BEFORE }, } end block make it for all OSBs of both MFCD and be happy :) but easiest way is to wait update :) (you need remove keboard.lua if it exist after that to apply new preset expirienced users can use LuaExport

hassata Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Assuming same applies to ICP? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Fish Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) Great, I got my profile made up for me Saitek P8000, just waiting on the OSB mappings now!! 3 modes LEFT (red), RIGHT (green) and SAFE. I use the rocker to toggle modes, Edited November 9, 2010 by Fish 1 Fish's Flight Sim Videos [sIGPIC]I13700k, RTX4090, 64gb ram @ 3600, superUltraWide 5120x1440, 2560x1440, 1920x1080, Warthog, Tusba TQS, Reverb VR1000, Pico 4, Wifi6 router, 360/36 internet[/sIGPIC]
rocketeer Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Look at this. Kuky showed how to make the osb work. I tried it and made a push button work on one of the osb buttons via a Leo board for the a10c beta 1. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59541 Try it. My A10C cockpit thread
Fish Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) Taken a while to get round to it, but sorted in now with the link from above  Got 2 sets of mfd's mapped, 2 modes. Separate 'safe' mode i use for the function keys. In this mode I can issue radio commands, or change views. Safe mode also allows me to protect keys like stop engines, and canopy. Works like a dream. If only Saitek would produce these again, they would sell lots for A10 alone. Its got the edge over the Cougar MFD's cause its got the extra buttons, for mapping. And you can use it on shooters eg. arma, for issuing commands. Please Saitek, bring back the P8000. !!!:worthy: Edited November 12, 2010 by Fish Fish's Flight Sim Videos [sIGPIC]I13700k, RTX4090, 64gb ram @ 3600, superUltraWide 5120x1440, 2560x1440, 1920x1080, Warthog, Tusba TQS, Reverb VR1000, Pico 4, Wifi6 router, 360/36 internet[/sIGPIC]
Fish Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Updated this profile for P8000 Outer buttons can be toggled for left or right MFCD's or safe. Right by default. Safe mode sets them to Function keys, so can be used for views, or radio. UFC buttons perform the same in all modes, except the FUNC, LTR, CLR keys, which double up as pause, quit, and canopy in safe mode. Shift and fire keys used for left and right engines start in left/right modes, stop in safe mode. Safe mode keys always return device to right mode after toggle, to prevent them being pushed inadvertently.
