Setup wizard can't find files

Hey all,

 

Purchased the a10c last night, (Took all night to download) I'm just now getting in from work to enjoy and I'm faced with this problem;

When I try to open the exe I get a message saying that it can't find the files. I downloaded all 4 files from FTP USA. Has anyone encountered this issue? What can I do to solve this?

I'm assuming all your files are in a single folder, no?

Well, are the 3 .bin -files in the same folder as the setup.exe ?

If so, how big are they ?

setup1.bin should be 1,951,352 kB

setup2.bin should be 1,953,125 kB

setup3.bin should be 601,357kB

Those are correct sizes....

All the files went into my downloads file. The exe is called setup(2). The message I get says "the file 'setup(2)-1.bin' cannot be found" Not sure what the (2) is about in the exe.

Thanks for the help so far, my 8hour shift seemed like an eternity today it be great if I could avoid that tomorrow ;)

Try and rename the file by deleting the "(2)" from the filename.

 

Looks to me like you downloaded the setup.exe twice and windows automatically added the "(2)" to the filename.

setup1 bin is 1,951,801 kb

setup2 bin is 406,134 kb

and setup3 bin is 601,357

 

There seems to be a discrepancy, bad download perhaps?

Looks like a bad download. Best to start all over I'm afraid. The good thing is that the first rush on the servers is over, so you should get it downloaded much faster now than yesterday.

re-downloading now. The exe is still called setup(2) though, I can't for the life of me find the original file presumably named "setup"

Ok, so after redownloading last night everything seemed fine...the files opened and the setup wizard ran. Three icons were installed on my desktop.

Sadly however my troubles are not over... When I try to run the programs I get this message;

Error

[string"./scripts/database/db_main.lua"]:58:attempt to index a global 'log' (a nil value)

 

Sorry to be such a pest, and thanks again for the help thus far. If anyones got a solution for this please let me know. I'm afraid I'm in for another extra long 8 hour shift today :(

You need to run Warthog as administrator if it was installed to Program Files, otherwise Windows "security" will prevent it from running properly.

I'll try that tonight.

I'm the one and only user on my pc and as far as I can tell I have administator privileges. I know I can run as admin by right clicking icon but is there a way to set my profile to do so automatically?

If you right-click the executable and go to Properties, you can set it to always run as administrator in the Compatibility tab.

check the names of the setup files. mine were named setup -1.bin from the http and ftp site (unless I was a moron and changed the names on them, don't think I did though), it should be "a10 beta-1.bin" same for -2 and -3.

Firefox will automatically rename your download files by adding a (2) or (3) if a file already exists in your download folder with the same name.

 

Simply move the four files into a folder on their own and remove the extraneous (2) from the setup.exe
