Couple of people reported in Nvidia forum that your A10C does not work in 3D with the Nvidia 3DVision.

I have the DCS Blackshark and it's glorious in 3D. I've been waiting for this sim for a long time and want to jump on to the beta band wagon badly...but only if it's 3D compatible - stereo 3D that is - so please, devs, confirm whether this A10C sim is compatible with 3DVision and if not now will it be in the future?

Your reply will be much appreciated.

BUMPED in case it wasn't read by ED folks.

It's almost guaranteed we won't see this feature in the first couple of beta releases, I imagine it'd be something added much later.

Maybe ED will be able to tell us if it's planned in the FR, but IMO you'd be mad to expect it in a beta.

thing is, 3D is not a feature per se: Most directx games are 3D compatible right out of the box, (some games do have minor issues caused by post processings which can be turned off with a simple option or a true/false in a config file somewhere) and these games are designed by devs who never had 3D in mind. Stereo 3D is a side effects of being Directx, or more correctly the stereo part is taken care of by Nvidia Stereovision Driver if games are directx 8 and later. That's why I'm suspecting something _very_ simple is happening with A10C that can be rectified equally simply by devs if they're aware of the issue, and hence this little reminder/request.

Regardless whether it's going to be 3D Vision compatible in beta or not, if devs can confirm that the game eventually will be working in stereo 3D (ie Nvidia 3D Vision compatible) then I will immediately sign up for pre order the beta, otherwise the game is, most regretfully, of no value to me. I love Black Shark and it looks and feels so damn real in stereovision, there is no way I'm going to do A10C in flat 3D, no way in hell. I'm really looking forward for a dev's reply on this enquiry.

Blackshark and A-10c use the same engine so if Blackshark supported it so will A-10c.

That is not correct, the engine received a major overhaul for DCSW

I'd be surprised if ED has tested it with 3D given that it's relatively new technology and not widely used ATM. It might be useful if anyone who has downloaded it and tried it using 3D could Chime in and say if they've had any issues with it.

Oops, nm. It sounds like a few people have already tested it with the beta and found issues.

Here're a data point for dev on the stereo 3D issue: There are couple people reported in the Nvidia 3Dvision forum that when launched, Nvidia 3D driver read /displayed a Blackshark profile (executable was named blackshark?) then and the emitter light was on signaling the game entering stereo 3D mode, but after loading the game data it failed to display stereo and instead went back to flat 3D.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. It is a beta. And like you said, if it's a directx, or a gfx card feature, then ED has nothing to do with it and nvidia will release a driver for it in time.

WOOOOoooooo

You're right of course, looking back at Blackshark, ED didn't have to do anything extra and it works with stereo 3D (S-3D) perfectly.

I was just too wound up about A10C and wanted to get on the bandwagon immediately and there is a chance though when devs do not provide option to turn off post processing effects etc... and that would inhibit stereo-3D big time even Nvidia stereo driver can't do a thing.

Are you running the 32Bit or 64Bit .exe for DCS-A-10?

Because TrackIR doesnt work with the 64Bit .exe yet because natural point havent release the 64Bit software.

I thought maybe this could be the case with Nvidia 3D as you say its working in Blackshark which is 32bit only.

Try using 32Bit install of A-10

Sure. The whole movie industry and multiple major TV manufacturers and Nvidia, ATI all put billion of dollars into their 3D products all are fools with money I guess. And my enjoyments of 3D gaming for the last 17 years exclusive has been all a self deception. Oh boy, talking about missing out big time.
