TrackIR 5 in DCS A10 Beta - No Joy

 

I have done the TrackIR "check for game updates"

I have done the TrackIR "check for game software"

I have a green light on my TrackIR 5, so I know its on

DCS A10 is showing on the TrackIR 5 "titles" tab list

TrackIR Version is 5.0.300 (Build 6225)

 

Not sure what Im missing?

Both the trackir software and game has to be started with admin rights. It's abit weird because some games don't need this.

 

Right click the icons, go to "compatibilty" tab and turn on "run this program as an administrator".

Track IR does not support 64 bit executables yet. Run the game in 32 bit mode.

Yes, that to. When installing A-10 make sure you install additional 32 bit files to :)

Both TrackIR 5 and DCS A-10C are running in windows compatibiliy mode, TraackIR 5 is XP compatible and DCS A-10C is Vista compatible, both have admin rights on.

Looking at the image in your last post you are running the 64bit exe. You need to run the 32 bit install called DCS A-10C_x86

Wrong. You can set "run as admin" permanently in that tab without setting any other compatibility settings. This way you don't have to right click and run as admin every time you want to play.

He said he was running it under XP SP3 compatibility and this is wrong.

 

Ofc yes he could set the run as admin in the compatibility pane but that should also be the one thing he sets in there :smilewink:

- Compatability as in "xp mode or vista mode".

- Administrator as any way you like.

The download page had no option for a 32 Bit File

It shows, "Recommended system requirements: OS: Windows 7 64"

You then download the four files

I dont recall at any point an option to install the program in 32 Bit

I dont remember a option either. It just threw all 4 exes on my desktop.

You are correct I did not check that box.

 

In my own defense, I had no way of knowing that the 32bit file was required to run my trackIR. So even if I had seen it, I had no reason to check the box at that time. "Hindsight is alway 20/20"

 

So it looks like I will have to uninstall and reinstall the Beta so I can check the 32bit file box. :cry:

9- There is currently no TrackIR support for the 64bit version. We have requested these several months ago.

 

I did read it...and the other 12 points. But having been involved with other betas, it never hurts to ask.

 

In fact by asking I found out there is a work around. (Install 32bit), unfortunately I found out after the install.

I bought the game today, and my install did not allow me to choose a 32-bit install. All I can choose is desktop icon, DirectX and Visual C++. Solutions?

 

Edit: Just noticed this was a very old thread, so I made a new one in the A-10 bugs forum.
