BlueRidgeDx Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 It was briefly mentioned in one of the Mega-Threads that there are some technical reasons why DCS isn't going to feature a DTS system. That's cool, and I'm not trying to bust anyone's chops...but here are a few reasons why I think it would be nice to look into having such a feature at some point in the future. The jet stores a lot of pilot configurable data that is a pain to setup each time you get in the cockpit. As it stands, IFFCC settings like the AAS preset list, HUD display preferences, CCIP Consent modes, etc., all need to be set before each flight. DSMS profiles need to be created for each weapon and for each planned delivery. Local NAV points, TAC points, and stereo routes have to be entered manually. It would be nice if there was a way to save your preferences, bombing profiles, and standard nav stuff. These setting would then be transfered via the DTS along with the mission specific stuff generated from the ME. "They've got us surrounded again - those poor bastards!" - Lt. Col. Creighton Abrams
Tango Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Does the real aircraft do this? If so, +1 for the idea! Best regards, Tango.
EvilBivol-1 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Without commenting on the likelihood of a DTS interface being added eventually, I'll just mention something not everyone may be aware of, which is the Prepare Mission function in the ME. This allows the mission designer to configure the avionics and save their state in the mission. This does not transfer to other missions, but remains intact whenever the mission is played. 1 - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. Krebs20 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Thanks for the information EvilBivol! Is this the same for the multiplayer missions as the single player? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Thanks Evil, fair enough. Sounds like a good start toward making some of those tasks more manageable. I'll check it out. "They've got us surrounded again - those poor bastards!" - Lt. Col. Now all we need is to have DTC-style preparation in the MISSION PLANNER, not the mission editor.
flanker0ne Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I did not find yet in Warthog but for Black Shark, theres some .lua where you can put your countermeasure standard settings or ADF freq ecc. Maybe this work for the A-10 also for CMS, Radio Preset..... SCOPRI DI PIU': https://www.amvi.it/joinus.php DISCORD COMBINEDOPS The Battle Planning Tool

Could you elaborate on this please? I looked for it but could not find anything like that in the ME. With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

When editing a mission click the 'Flight' menu item (along the top of the window) the select 'Prepare Mission' you will be placed in the cockpit of the A10. You then program the various systems as you like. Tracer2k Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 i'd be happy if i was able to same my CMS profiles and not have to do them all over again when i start the mission.. Eddie Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 i'd be happy if i was able to same my CMS profiles and not have to do them all over again when i start the mission.. There should be an lua file somewhere where you can amend the default CMS program to your liking. I didn't manage to locate it myself before heading overseas, but it should be there somewhere, parhaps in the same location as in BS.
BlueRidgeDx Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 It tried the prepare mission feature, but keep getting a CTD, so I'll wait until a later build to see how that works out. Seems like .lua editing might be a more far reaching and permanent solution to the issue. "They've got us surrounded again - those poor bastards!" - Lt. Col. Creighton Abrams
