GunnDawg Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Hey folks after enough toying around and learning a bit about the A10 I am finally ready to start putting together a profile that suits me. I have no problem up until now. I want to assign one of my HAT switches to act as the "Coolie Switch" but only when the pinkie trigger is engaged. I have no problem setting up its functions when the pinkie switch isnt engaged but when I hold the pinkie switch it and press one of the directions on the HAT switch it changes it to Mode 1 + Pinkie on the direction I switched to which is good, it recognizes me holding pinkie and the direction I want, however how do I assign a key/macro to it onces its activated because the second I release the pinkie switch it goes back to regular mode.
GunnDawg Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Bah, mark this post for deletion, I figured it out.
GunnDawg Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Actually since this thread is still open. I am still having issues with the profiling of the X52 software. How do I assign a button to do something like "/ + RCtrl" for trim down? Can the profile software allow you to do a macro of sorts so that one button will emulate two keyboard key presses for a function like this?
TeeJay82 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 (edited) Click the button you want in the profiler, then just hold rctrl and press the + like you would ingame Edited October 16, 2010 by TeeJay82
GunnDawg Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 That does not seem to work unless I am doing something wrong. Here is a screenshot of the profile page I am working on. http://tinypic.com/r/30uwg1t/7 Its almost like it hits RCtrl then releases, then presses / instead of doing it together like Rctrl + /
MTFDarkEagle Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Did you update the profiler software? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
nomdeplume Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 That should work fine, though you should make sure you have the latest version of the profiling software. Have you tested it in-game? In the controls configuration screen, if you press a key assigned to controls, it will jump to that control. So it's an easy way to test if your configuration is working correctly. I would also suggest at least considering using the in-game configuration to assign your buttons, as this allows you to use your controls simultaneously without them interfering with each other.
GunnDawg Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Ugh stupid me had my trim down profiled as "trim right" so thats why I thought it wasnt working when i was testing it, kept wondering why I would pitch right real hard when trying to trim down, heh.
uri_ba Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I actually built a X52 profile without Pinky switch on profiler. I've added the Pinkey as a modifier within the game and program it from withing the Options. This way I can set DMS, TMS, CMS (and trim\views) on the stick. and use the throttle hat as SLEW and COOLIE. all I need to fix is the BOAT (which will be programed on the slider using bands on the profiler. and move the ZOOM, Resenter, for the sensors to a better place on then the toggles on the stick Creator of Hound ELINT script My pit building blog Few DIY projects on Github: DIY Cougar throttle Standalone USB controller | DIY FCC3 Standalone USB Controller
StrongHarm Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I spent many hours analyzing the A10 HOTAS for translation to the X52pro HOTAS. As a business intelligence consultant, analysis is my thing. It still needs some work, but check it out: X52pro Dropcheck It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
