I received one of PC Aviator's emails a few days ago, advertising the availability of the TM Warthog. I was interested to see this comment:

IN STOCK – More generally available within 24 hours. Limited supply in Australia however – be quick – Production run is limited.

Production run is limited? Has anyone else heard of this?

I must admit I've chosen to hold off purchasing for a little while whilst other eager-beavers do the beta testing, but, I don't want to miss out entirely! Just PC Aviator trying to encourage some more orders on their (absurdly expensive) Warthog? Not cool if they're making it up...

its a good piece of hardware - you will be happy with it - a couple of dollars up or down shouldnt really matter. i ordered mine from the flightsimstore. not the cheapest but i had it delivered within 24 hours. i dont think you can go wrong and ordering it locally (australia) will not only support the local economy but it will spare you lots of problems and cost in case something does go wrong. break the cost down to an hourly rate and its peanuts.

I certainly don't disagree with your thoughts behind buying locally - I think PC Case Gear's price is quite reasonable and I've only had excellent service from them in the past. But for me, it's still a fair bit of cash to outlay for what appears to be almost a "beta" release. Yes, the bricked throttle problem concerns me and the TARGET software is still in its infancy.

Anyway, is there any truth that the production run of the Warthog is a "limited"? Otherwise I'm happy to wait until 2011...

Well PC Case Gear supplied me with this damn heavy and shiny A10 stick. Just going through the motions of installing and testing. Yet to plug this in just (I have just arrived home) Hope it all works out!!!!

I turned the PC off, took out the X52 Pro and plugged in the Warthog. Windows 7 found it no problem.

I downloaded TARGET from the website, installed and it found the HOTAS no problem.

Jumped into the game and the buttons didn't match the inputs. Did a quick seach here and followed Dark Eagle's advice on finding the lua. files for the Warthog HOTAS Stick and Throttle. And the buttons worked.

I'll have to re-map trim to the Toggle 1 as it's set to views and overides my Track IR. A little tinkering and I should be good to go.

It's very smooth, heavy and precise. did a gun run on some huts and I think I'm more accurate then with my X52 Pro.

Now I have to learn how to play the game.... but I think I have knocked down some barriers. This joystick will make this process a lot more intrinsic and natural.

Going to be a few late nights ahead.

I'm looking at purchasing one in the next month as well (especially now that f-18 looks like next aircraft).

At the moment, there is this on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/130590759262?hlp=false#shId

AUD 480.

Which I just bought. The closest I've seen otherwise is:

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=953&products_id=16084

(Which is just a short trip for me, so no postage would have applied)
