The only downside is if you want to sink backwards into your chair - TrackIR will register that and move your view backwards accordingly.

 

Map the TIR freeze to your HOTAS and you're fine there.

 

TIR consistently AMAZES the masses when I show it to them.

I remember 7yrs ago,Around this time of yr,When The original LOMAC came out,I had the manual printed at Kinko's,It cost me $40.00 USD,I think it was $10 more than the game! and it was Black-n-White and I couldn't make out the F-15 Hud Symbology!!! It was almost useless!! lol!!

hahaha i like that! I can't wait to get my hands on this baby. I've been waiting for a sim like this since I first got my hands on Falcon (for Amiga 500) and then Falcon 4.

My only problem is finding enough time to enjoy it...lol.

 

Oh.... I absolutely love my TrackIR! Now I'll have to get my hands on that Hotas Warthog....I still use and enjoy my Cougar (but she's showing her age) :-)

The manual came back from the printer today - all 2.5kg of it!! So I went over to Staples and had it bound into 4 sections - it would have been ridiculous to try to handle a 650 page single book after all.

 

The printing quality is absolutely superb!! So pleased with it.

 

My photos (attached) aren't so good because it's indoors at night, with incandescent lights.

Yes, I was the founder of the 185th Reservoir Dogs on 7th July 1999!!! It was an online squadron for Falcon4 Pilots and is still going to this very day! Unfortunately, I had to resign command due to changes to my work life which basically swallowed up all my liesure time. I'm very proud of the fact that it's still going strong 11 years later though!

Did you use to put together some profiles for hose old-style MFDs? I know you used to put together some sort of profiles I used to use in my pre A10C days. That's how I define my life now lol: pre and post A10C Release. Anyway welcome back.

I too was thinking about getting the manuals printed...but methinks I will wait for the proper release. But the quality is looking great, should be a good investment.

 

On a side note... I noticed your wireless Sennheiser headphones. LOL I got the very same ones too... I use them when watching movies late at night so I don't wake my flatmates up.

I've got trackIR with trackClip Pro (don't like an infrared emitter, emitting crap in my face if you know what I mean) and it is awesome.

 

I was also having doubts, and for 160$ there was a lot of though before I've finally bought it (around 2 years actually), but it is great. It did take some time to get used to and every title is a little different (in A-10 I have found locking the Z and Y axis very helpful), but overall it works great.

 

IMHO, rather than getting a new joystick, getting trackIR is the priority, but that's just my opinion.

Yes, that's right. Boy, I used to love those old MasterPilots! I had 3 of them and they could be programmed to high heaven! Here's my OLD cockpit, complete with my Cougar Hotas. Those were the days! :)
