I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Some people complain saying that Smallwood spends too much time on the pilots but that is what make his books for me. There is plenty here on tactics and the workings of an AF squadron in combat.

The Smallwood A-10 book has been discussed on here many times. It is a truly excellent book whether you are an A-10 fan or not. If you like his style, check out his book about F-15E in the Gulf War, its just as good.

Hey, I remember you BRD! You rated one of my missions called "TUN OF TROUBLE" and you said....

"Excellent fun! Tough to go head-to-head with a Tunguska. Got a real sense of achievement to get the Mav off the rail as the SA-19 smoke trail looms closer" [brit Radar Dude]"

Boy that was some time ago, huh? Believe it or not, that site is still up on the net, quietly rotting away :-)

Nice to see you haven't bought the farm

That is an excellent book, read it a few months back. A few other books that are good are

Eye of the Viper, the making of an F-16 pilot by Peter Aleshire

Vipers in the Storm by Keith Rosenkraz.

We have a guy in our squad that knew him and I have e-mailed and talked to him a few times. He is a ex F-16 pilot and was stationed at Hill AFB in Utah
