blaster454 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Some people complain saying that Smallwood spends too much time on the pilots but that is what make his books for me. There is plenty here on tactics and the workings of an AF squadron in combat. Griffin Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 What they said. A great read and I liked the way it is written. Maybe some pilot from the book actually fired one of these.

Brit_Radar_Dude Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) The Smallwood A-10 book has been discussed on here many times. It is a truly excellent book whether you are an A-10 fan or not. If you like his style, check out his book about F-15E in the Gulf War, its just as good. Smallwood, W. Strike Eagle - Flying the F-15E in the Gulf War. Publisher: Brassey's. ISBN: 0-02-881058-9 You the same MadDogMcQ from back in the day who had a site with some nice v1.02 missions? MadDogMcQ Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 ....You the same MadDogMcQ from back in the day who had a site with some nice v1.02 missions? Hey, I remember you BRD! You rated one of my missions called "TUN OF TROUBLE" and you said.... "Excellent fun! Tough to go head-to-head with a Tunguska. Got a real sense of achievement to get the Mav off the rail as the SA-19 smoke trail looms closer" [brit Radar Dude]" Boy that was some time ago, huh? Believe it or not, that site is still up on the net, quietly rotting away :-) Nice to see you haven't bought the farm  Tom PC SPECS : * Intel i7 920 @ 4Ghz | P6T Deluxe V2 | 32Gb DDR RAM | GTX 1070i OC 8 Gb | H50 Water Cooler | Velociraptor 150Gb | Samsung SATA II 1Tb and Samsung 860PRO 512| Prolite 1080p 24" | Logitech G-19 | TM Twin MFD's | TM Warthog | TIR 5 (soon) | Windows 7/64 | My PC | My Blog | My Bikes

A few other books that are good are Eye of the Viper, the making of an F-16 pilot by Peter Aleshire Vipers in the Storm by Keith Rosenkraz.
