Agg Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Its not about bashing anyone or anything, I think everyone on these forums, including me, love the effort that ED puts into their products. I have bought every ED product since the original Flanker, and I will continue buying everything they release. I was merely stating that I think its about time that they update the sceneries, just like they have started to update the aircraft models. 1
bfeld Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Of course good graphics are important for the immersion, but since there are limited development sources, it's the question what to focus on. That said, I like the statement of one of the developers of the racing simulation 'Live for Speed', basically stating: "We want to develop a simulation, not a screenshot generator" :-). Looking at DCS's screenshots, I think they do a pretty good job for such a detailed simulation.
h00t74 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 LOL I live here and in real life the terrain is ugly :)
h00t74 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Do they have Indian Springs Modeled in the Nellis ranges?
mvsgas Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Nellis Map was removed in Beta 3 AFAIK, so I'm not sure in Indian Springs is modeled To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
bradleyjs Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Anyone know why the removed the Nevada map? I can only assume it's being heavily reworked - so they didn't want us to complain about it ... ACUTech Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 My opinion is they could've just left Nevada "as is" in BETA 3 and subsequent releases while still working on it on their end, and then release a final update once completed... Would've made more sense to me then just remove it. Try taking back a candy you just gave to your 5yo... ;) =ACU=Tech TECH Systemes Computer 1 Computer 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hassata Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 My guess is it's going to be a pay add-on for everyone that didn't pre-order. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

It was clear the map wouldn't be finished by retail so rather than leave in an unfinished and buggy map and take away resources from finishing the rest of the product they wisely removed it entirely and deferred development on it till a time when they'd have more resources for it without adversely affecting the rest of the game. T-Bone Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 BUMP! LB9, What is the latest news on the Nev. Theater? Will it be available in Beta 4/5/6, etc? Has ED been able to find a solution for the color clashing issues and texture blending? Will the new terrain tools be released soon? luckybob9 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Still in progress. No clue on terrain tools. Sorry. digitaljjd Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 SPACE PROBE NUMBER 1 Any UFOs over groom lake?;) I think that would be an awesome idea! How hard would it be to model a flying saucer and skin it as a new UFO aircraft for the Nevada map? The Air Force already has one at Groom Lake see Wikileaks photos below. Make it insanely fast...faster then a missle, so it would be hard to take down, or impossible to shoot down because of the advanced shield technology. (no damage model needed) It would make a cool drone type target. It's not too late! It's still a WIP. :music_whistling:
