Hey guys, I find it a lot more fps friendly to record "Half size" in fraps. Is this what most of you guys do? I want the quality to be at least youtube 720p, which it usually is when I record full. Will it look ok if I record at half?

If you have access to editing software (Vegas etc etc ), just capture the track with FRAPS at half or even quarter SIM speed. Then render at full speed at editing.

For quality comparison...

I shot this @ 2048x1152

And I shot this @ HALF frame (1024x576)

First time shooting half frame for me, but was very pleased with the results.

(All recorded at 30FPS)

.25 here - 10fps, locked - vegas pro then does its magic.

hey, could you please explain this method? I dont get it. In fraps there is now 1/4 option it is only half or full. And I please explain how vegas does its magic, or how to make it do that. And you record at only 10FPS?!?!

First video is nice, but the second looks pretty poor. Tons of splotches, extremely difficult to read text (hud/labels would be mere shapes). It was smooth, but really low quality.

Yes, but also more than 15x smaller in size! The cockpit resolution is due to WIP texturing, I did notice full screen on external view though the blotts etc, windowed looks quite nice though.
