Is there a way to dim the HUD. Would be nice to dim it right down, like in BS to give better visibility of distant targets, and in dim light. (night vision helps a little only)

That feature is not working for me. The rocker does nothing to HUD intensity.

My specs:  W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB, monitor: GIGABYTE M32QC 32" (31.5" Viewable) QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 165Hz.

Is that switch actually working? If you mouse over it says no function. I tried a night mission and kept pressing it and never noticed a change.

Just tested this. While it does still say no function, it does indeed work. You have to PRESS AND HOLD (I was just spamming the button and that doesn't seem to work). Sure does make nightvision ccip passes and gun runs much better!

I have much keys/switches with "No Function" and most of them works.

 

Is that switch actually working? If you mouse over it says no function. I tried a night mission and kept pressing it and never noticed a change.

I've notice that putting the HUD in 'Day' mode when I put on the NVGs there is signifcantly less light bloom on the hud indications and text. Not sure if this is noted in the manual or not but the day HUD green is a lot like the rest of the NVG compatible lighting.

I believe this is a bug that has been resolved for the next patch.

Funnily enough I thought it was a bug too, but it seems NVGs filter Blue/green normally - this is why the Green HUD is less bright on the NVGs.

I guess that makes sense. You can have cockpit lighting in green light that will not blind the NVGs, and the greenish, scattered light escaping from the NVGs themselves shouldn't blind the goggles either.
