Callsign.Vega Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Agreed.. I remember purchasing Falcon 3.0 for my 486DX33.. with 4 meg RAM ... :D Good ol' days For me BS & A-10C are the only 2 sims worth flying atm :) I have probably thousands of hours flying Falcon 3.0 lol. I played the crap out of that when I was 11-12 years old ('91-'92). I remember upgrading to a CPU with a math co-processor it was so awesome. Hmm I must get cracking on A-10C as I have more real flight hours versus simulator now. Warthog HOTAS arrives on Monday! GPU: RTX 4090 - 3,000 MHz core / 12,000 MHz VRAM. This sim is not just another fancy software program. I am sure we will be talking about it in years, as we do about the greatests ones like Falcon 40, Longbow, Tornado, Janes......... A awesome sim with a wonderful manual, it is a winners combination. Thanks ED!!! [sIGPIC]http://menorca.infotelecom.es/~raulurbina/ESA/banner_furia.png[/sIGPIC]

power5 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Falcon 3 was my first taste of Flight Simness. Talk about being spoiled. Just look at all the documents that came with it. And it worked with Apple. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Aaron i7 2600k@4.4ghz, GTX1060-6gb, 16gb DDR3, T16000m, Track IR5 BS2-A10C-UH1-FC3-M2000-F18C-A4E-F14B-BF109

revalence Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Then your gonna love this: http://combathelo.blogspot.com/ Hmmm.... i noticed CombatHelo has a very promising future for all of us who remember Jane's Longbow. If not for DCS A-10C, they might have of given us some competition!
Bulletstop Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I think it will depend on the fidelity of the sim as a whole, DCS has raised the bar then some.. I am watching it with quite a bit of interest as I love the Apache, but again once you have flown both DCS products you kinda get spoiled. Bullet I7 4790K running at 4390 with a gigabyte board with 16 gigs of ram with an Asus gtx 660-ti and 2 tb of hard drive space on 2 wd hard drives. A X-65F Hotas with trackir4 and pro combat peddles. A kick butt home built machine unfortunately running a windows 7 OS.

Clearly now, ED has become the new standard for what i consider to be "high fidelity simulation" IMHO. Now all i need to know is when can i buy the hard copy manual, or do i wait for final release and have Staples print my pdf version? I also own Black Shark, guess I need to get serious about getting a hard copy manual for that also. Mach10 Edited November 7, 2010 by SCRAMJETZ
andysim Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 :smilewink:I remeber upgrading my first PC I put in a Cyrix CPU that took my PC up to 133mhz!! I also had a 3DFX Voodoo. God it seems like so long ago. It almost feels like a diffrent life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrix
