Migo Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) I finally got A10 today and immediately started benchmarking. The GPU has no impact on the FPS at all. My HD5850 is used 30-50%. I remember someone saying his GTX480 is used 100% by DCS A10, that can't be true if my HD5850 doesn't has 50% load with 16xQ TSAA/16xAF at 1920*1080. The settings with an impact on performance are water, visib range and civ traffic. The other settings didn't have any impact on performance for me. I wonder why the fps dropped so much in comparison to Black Shark. With nothing going on in front of me I always got 80-200fps, in A10 the fps are around 40-50fps maximum. At accelerated startup procedure training the fps were really going down for me when looking to the right direction and because I know my CPU is bad ass, I wonder how your performance is in that situation. I get around 9fps with Visib Range set to "high" 13fps on "medium" and 28fps on "low". Do you think the performance will improve when this module will be officially released ? Sry for my bad english- Greetz, Migo What I am about to say has been said MANY times before. This is a beta. It is unoptimized. In the final product, you will see FPS improvements. Migo Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 You think so ? They would have to redo the whole engine to make it utilize more than 2 cores.
SkipCarey Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 from what Ive read Nvidia is best for this sim (I think it even utilizes sli)as the catalyst drivers arent up to snuff for this sim yet, I would love to see quad core support as well
Spectre_USA Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Not only will it be more optimized, but more operational. Currently a look toward downtown "Lav Vegas," (As the map now shows it) will yield a slide show, no matter how smokin' a CPU/vid combo you have. Yeas, it is a beta, and yes, the internal testers have already seen improvements. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] A tale of 2 hogs
