Waxi Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Did you run the newest firmware? Yes, I am running the latest firmware (version 11 on the stick and version 20 on the throttle) and driver version, which is dated 2011-02-22. Throttle and stick are hardware revisions V.3. The funny thing is that the stick seems to work sporadically. After some while I connected the stick again and it worked until I tried to load my TARGET script. While loading the script, the TARGET Script Editor crashed and the stick was dead again. After this happened, I unplugged the stick, uninstalled and reinstalled the TARGET software, waited for about 30 minutes, and connected the stick again. This time I could load my TARGET profile and the stick worked for about one hour until it died again. I hope it's just a firmware problem that can be solved quickly and without returning the HOTAS. I already sent an email to Thrustmaster support but they will probably only respond on Monday the earliest. UPDATE: I found out that my stick can be reanimated by plugging it out, waiting about 15-20 minutes and reconnecting it. Then it is possible to reinstall the firmware and to use the stick as usual until it dies again after about 15-20 minutes. UPDATE 2: Eventually, I had to mail my joystick base to Thrustmaster technical support in France. One week later I received my repaired joystick. The customer support was quick and friendly. Moreover, I will get my shipping costs refunded. It's nice to see that they are at least anxious about their customers' satisfaction Edited August 27, 2011 by Waxi
LuckyStrikes Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Well I can add myself to the "dead throttle list" for the second time. I haven't gone through he charade of reviving it yet... but I guess I am going to again. I sent my original throttle back to Canada and received a new one from France, and now this one is dead. :( buh
Abburo Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Sorry guys, I saw a lot of "warthog" corpses here. Did anybody tried to find a root cause? So strange... Romanian Community for DCS World HW Specs: AMD 7900X, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, HOTAS Virpil, MFG, CLS-E, custom
KewinSawicki Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 E-mailed TM and got back instructions on how to fix it. Somehow my female DIN connector was bent into one of the sides and also two wires were cut inside by some magical forces .... No idea how but the repair has to be done by my self and they are only providing me with spare parts ( the connector and the ribbon (the wires)) which i still have to pay 15 euros for. USMCBEANS Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 My throttle is showing up in Printers and Devices but doesn't light up and says it needs trouble shooting. Trouble shooting says I need to install the driver but that fails. Sometimes when I plug it in it doesn't show up and comes up with the USB device not recognized window. What are the steps I need to do to clean it's entries in my registry?

snafup Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 E-mailed TM and got back instructions on how to fix it. No idea how but the repair has to be done by my self and they are only providing me with spare parts ( the connector and the ribbon (the wires)) which i still have to pay 15 euros for. If the wires are in the base, it isn't magical forces. Just really tiny wires that can get pinched when the stick moves. I have rewired that part of my base because of it.Used heat shrink to keep them out of harms way. Sometimes it can make you think you don't know how to use the hotas correctly when it is actually wonky wires.
