Flamin_Squirrel Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Hi guys. I seem to have suffered spontainious track ir death. It's not the USB port, I've reinstalling the software, drivers, I've tried reboots, software restarts etc, nothing works. Any ideas?
WynnTTr Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I had the same problem. Tried different usb ports, installed it on my laptop, different TrackIR software, mate's computer. Nothing worked. No blue light to say it was tracking even though TrackIR5 can pick it up. I finally realised the unit was dead when I plugged in my bro's TrackIR and it worked fine. So unfortunately it looks as if your TrackIR unit has suffered hardware failure. If it's still within a year, you can notify Naturalpoint and they should send you another one as it's still under warranty. If you're past a year (like me), you're sol and have to get another unit. It's all good - gave me an excuse to upgrade to TrackIR5.
159th_Viper Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I had the same problem..... Exactly the same scenario as described by WynnTTr. My TrackIr4 just stopped........One minute fine, the next as dead as a doornail. I had no way of confirming death and just ordered 5 in any event. A squaddie later confirmed that the unit was FUBAR. ilikepie Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Hi guys. Any ideas? TIR 5. Pro clip. Action After Contemplation
jib Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Yeah this happened to my track ir 4 as well. I think they are very sensitive to power surges. Mine broke 3 days outside of the 1 year warranty :( . But I emailed the shop I brought it from and they said they could offer me a half price track ir 5. so I jumped at the offer. I don't know if they have fixed the issue but i hope so because I don't want to by a new one every year (even thought it is worth it if i had to!) Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated! Flamin_Squirrel Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 I seem to remember getting a static shock when I touched my joystick the other day. My cougar MFD turned on and off at the time. The TIR wasn't on the same USB hub, but perhaps that's what cooked it?? :S
