Kevlon Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Hey. I find my cougar to be too sensitive around the "dead sone" (middle possition) Does anyone know how to fix this? I knew there was a lua tweak to fix this in 1.02 , because the Ground attack pilots had a hard time keeping their piper on target when they did a cannon run. But i cant find that post. Thanks 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
cueceleches Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I would like to know also, as I have exactly the sme problem. Pitch is way too sensitive. I´ve tried many times to tweak the axes, from the ingame joystick options, and from the Cougar Control Panel, but to no avail. I hardly can aim my pipper on a ground target.
shneck Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 try decrease number of using axis in game, program throttle, rudder as digital axis of cougar - THR 6 5 (....)...., ANT, RNG, RDRR. In HOTAS section of LOMAC use only X and Y. mb this will help u. sry 4 my engl.
Andrew_McP Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 The problem is that because of the high stick forces it's very hard to make small accurate movements (especially in a diagonal direction). That's why I shelved mine and went for CH instead where -- if anything -- you have the opposite problem. However by reducing the sensitivity of the joystick profile in LOMAC (ie large stick deflection required for small aircraft movement) you ought to be able to minimise the problem with the Cougar. You wouldn't want to dogfight with it set up like that though. Andrew McP
cueceleches Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I fact I just would want to adjust pitch movement, (Y axis?). I´ve tried what it seemed more logical to me: increase the dead zon in order to avoid sudden movements when the stick is slightly pushed or pulled. Nevertheless, it didn´t work, so I adjusted also the curve and made it a little less straight. But I found there that my dogfight abilities were reduced, since my turning rates were diminished...I need the pitch wobbling to disappear or at least be reduced to a minimum without loosing maneuverability.

In the FC input screen. Change your Pitch and Roll settings to 50 7.5 20. The left most being 0 and the right most being 100 and each tick mark representing 10. Its still not 100% for me but it did help alot. Cheers 13900KF NVD4090 32RAM G2
cueceleches Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Thanks a lot Hammer, I´ll try it as soon as I get home.
h.kan Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 In 1.02 it was Config/View folders and look for cockpit.lua , open with notepad and find the line CockpitNyMove = true Change true to false and then save. you also can try change producer.cfg, There is a single line: ForceFeedbackEnabled = true; Quite simply change 'true' to 'false' and save

Changing the a Cougar axis's curve setting should not limit your dogfighting abilities or your maximum pitch rate. Editing the curve only shifts what inputs occur at what displacement, but 100% displacement is still 100% input. SimHQ Technology Editor TSH member
Lange_666 Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 For those who want, you can always upgrade your Cougar with a mod to overcome the standard stick forces and make it as smooth as can be. I made my own 4-spring mod but went for an Über from IJ later on in the process. Supersmooth ride i can assure you.
