famunda Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 So ive been flying with my saitek 52's for about a year now on FSX. I also had the old 45's for several years so im pretty familiar with saitek setups. I decided to buy the new lomac flaming cliffs 2 yesterday because i havnt played lomac in a long time. I of course went pretty much straight to the options and controller tab to set up my sticks and everything seemed to work as advertised until i started the game up!!! I had my trigger set up to fire the main gun on the a-10 but it was cycling through my weapons instead!! I had my main fire button set up to fire my missles "mavericks" but it was firing the cannon!!! now several times i went back into the settings and tried this over and over again finally giving up after about an hour and a half of trying different things! i should also add that it seems im only having these problems on flaming cliffs!! if i play the original it seems to work just fine! that is changing controller set-ups anyway. this really has me stumped so any help will be appreciated! btw these are not the "pro" sticks

Confirm the following: Your SST programming software has the following key assignments: 1 - Weapon Fire = [Space] Fires the Cannon 2 - Weapons Release = [Space + RAlt] Fires the Mav's/Drops Bombs/Fires Rockets etc etc Note the separate/distinct key-inputs: Are yours as above and you still cannot get it to work? famunda Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 ya know i would have to check on that real quick but i dont remember changing any keyboard assignments! and also out of curiousity what would my keyboard assignments have to do with my flight controller stick assignments??
joey45 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Are you using the SST software or the in-game options? Tried deleting all the joystick commds ingame and use SST. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. famunda Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) i am using the in game options due to the fact that i am unfamiliar with using the sst because i have always been able to just use the in game options with no problem for fsx and the original lock on. so being unfamiliar with the sst do i need to use it? Edited January 17, 2011 by famunda
famunda Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 also i was looking at the sst software and it says to left click the button i want to program and type in what command i want it to produce. so im guessing i need to switch back and forth between sst and lomac fc options screen right? i take it i need to type in the exact command that lomac has in to my sst software? for instance if lomacs command for the cannon would say "main gun fire" thats what i would want to type under my main trigger command spot in the sst?
famunda Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 well i made a profile under my sst software but when i try to go to load profile and select the saved one from my sst software it tells me its an invalid path or file name or some bs! any help here guys?
Wolf Rider Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 if the ingame keyboard command is [space bar] for fire weapon, then the Saitek programmer must reflect that same keyboard key. whichever button you assign to whatever function on the Saitek stick through its software, must the same as whichever keyboard key is assigned to that same function in the game. Keep in mind that the buttons on the stick, are only really a keyboard. Thanks Wolfrider! i actually figured that out last night as i sat down to try and map these things out! now if only i can figure out how to get the profile loaded!
S77th-konkussion Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 In the old days you would right click the icon in the system tray and then left click the profile that you named to load it.. Shouldn't be wildly different today.. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
famunda Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 your post was actually quite helpfull as i didnt know you could load the prof that way! however i lost my saved profile before i figured that out and i went to start a new one however i ran into a problem i didnt notice before because i didnt "test" the old prof. so i decided to test my first key assignment and "nothing" happened! heres a snapshot! i used the "spacebar" command under the main trigger to fire the "cannon" but when i go to "test" i get nada! whats the deal here?
S77th-konkussion Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I'm on an itouch.. Can't open that picture effectively.. Plus my saitek days are way behind me- but will check it out early afternoon when on PC. (assuming no help in meantime) [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
famunda Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 well hopefully you can still help as now the problem has shifted lol! here is another screenshot! I got the testing to work and everything checks out fine there however when i get in game the only command i set up that actually works is the flaps on my throttle stick. the engines start may work but i did a quick start so thats not been checked yet! so anyway heres a shot of my setup let me know if im messing it up!
S77th-konkussion Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 (edited) what it sounds like is that you have missed the critical step of clearing ALL the default button assignments that DCS has assigned to your stick. **I'm not at home- so be careful. I can't describe it like it was in front of me. Ensure my steps are accurate before executing step..** Leave commands on ALL- and highlight something in the column under your stick- you might have to scroll down a bit and find an assigned command and highlight that. That should light up that column and/ OR your device name (in a bluish) back at the top of column. Up at the top- to left of device columns is a "clear category" Clear ALL the columns relating to the devices you want to program.. Saitek users would typically see 1 device right? Are the stick and throttle wired together still? Saitek rudders might mean 2 devices- not sure. DO NOT CLEAR THE KEYBOARD COLUMN IF THERE IS ONE. Bottom line is- Program the BUTTONS in SST. This includes trim & usually maverick/tgp camera slewing. There can be exceptions to this- won't get into that now.. Program the AXIS in DCS. THRUST (L& R if applicable) WHEEL BRAKES (L& R if you have rudders) PITCH ROLL Edited January 21, 2011 by S77th-konkussion [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
S77th-konkussion Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 There is the possibility of additional conflicts involving your mouse or some other input- but not usually. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
famunda Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 Konkussion first let me say thank you for trying to help me solve this problem!! secondly although i was fairly sure i had allready cleared my x52 assignments in lomac i just went back to double check and yes they were all cleared! i even did it again to make double sure then loaded up a quick mission and strill same problems!!! my trigger is cycling through my weapons my main weapon firing button is shooting my cannon and my weapons release button is keeping my cannon firing until i click the button again! none of which are on the buttons i have programmed! very weird.
S77th-konkussion Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 oh this is LOMAC? crap.. I had forgotten about LOMAC.. :P Well OK same thing applies.. Let me ponder this. Leaving lady's house -heading to mine.. But I will say that you have programmed something in error somehow. Start with re doing it in SST to the best of your ability and I'll check back in a bit.. Suggest you ead to S77th.com forums and bookmark it- mainly so you can quickly refer to the TS status. We might have to talk about this live.. S77th-konkussion Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Only other thing I can come up with is that you have to repeat the process for EACH PLANE that you fly. If you set it up correctly for the SU 27 it won't neccesarily be correct for the Mig, 33, etc [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
famunda Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 well the set up in question is for the a-10 ive tried a new profile but to no avail.
