Hello,

If one day I decide to stop playing DCS:-A-10C, can I sell my licence key to somebody else? Will the new "landlord" be able to activate the game?

Must I inform DCS about the change of ownership?

Or is it strictly forbidden?

What about FC2 licence key electronic version?

Good day.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Menendezdiego: Licensing.

Ever thought about why game stores happily buy used console games but not used PC games? ;)

Why on earth would you want to sell it? The game hasn't even been released yet!

I'm fairly certain the EULA does not allow re-sale of your key.

Nate

Darn those clever lawyers...

3. LICENCE CONDITIONS

3.1 Except as expressly set out in this Licence or in clauses 4.1 and 4.2 below, or as permitted by any local law, you undertake to use the Program for your own personal use, and you shall not:

.

.

(d) sell, rent, lease, sub-license, distribute, loan, translate, merge, adapt, vary, modify or otherwise transfer the Program, or any copies of the Program, without the express prior written consent of TFC;

I admit, I thought selling was perfectly legal. Many stores in Australia openly trade used PC games.

And I would add, this is a so specific branch, the 'study sim'. This soft is distributed to a very confidential audience. I'm sure the investors and programmers themselves are aware of that but they continue to do their job to enjoy us (and to make money too but I guess it's not their first objective).

So I think it's right for them to maximize the sells rate to be profitable. (also thanks to their US DoD contract)

In the videogame business, we can find other example. (try to sell a 'steam' game...)

In an other hand, people would probably like to try the sim before buying it. Why not make a closed demo version?

OK, OK, interested people can also read the forums and look youtube vids but... It's not the same.

Because a small developer can not afford to pump a lot of time into a project that will generate no returns (yes i know that there are indirect returns, but i'm sure that ED, with their 20 years worth of expierience in this business, are better than us at judging if this is profitable).

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.
