harv Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 The features for DCS A-10 claims to include: Improved Ground Force AI If a moving ground group is engaged, the group will disperse and evade Some groups will pop smoke if engaged Firstly, is this confirmed? ; Anyone actually seen em do it yet? Secondly, is it effective and thus pose more of a challenge? And most importantly - the reason I never got into black shark is because it felt like more of a shooting range - and thus I would like to know if they can implement this new ground AI into BS?? Anyone know?
Tone71 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I've seen this happen during a play through one of the easy instant action missions. Your last target is a column of armour making its way along a road; as soon as you engage one of the targets the rest will disperse. They eventually form up and carry on if left alone long enough. Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7-9700K @ 4.6GHz, Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (8GB VRAM) on 34" LG curved monitor @ 3440x1440, 32GB RAM, TrackIR 3 (with Vector Expansion), Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Pedals, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs.
S77th-konkussion Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Yes. I can confirm that. Made a gun run on some Trucks- from behind- as soon as one of them was hit (or thereabouts) the single file column parted like the red sea.. The alternating left and right seems a little more script-y than say- trucks randomly hauling ass in every direction, but hey... one thing at a time.. ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted February 1, 2011 ED Team Posted February 1, 2011 Yes - to all points. The plan is to update Black Shark with a patch, bringing all the features from DCS: A-10C along with it, and thus, makes the 2 modules compatible online for multiplayer. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page

Lonecrow66 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I dont know how you guys see anything. I can't get close enough to see anything, they usually shoot me down instantly.. especially the bmp's. I also employ countermeasures and jinking to avoid them but always get hit and always lose my right mfd... makes me angry. Anything I see with a maverick is a dot anyway.. you can't zoom maverick optics right? --- May your takeoffs equal your landings!
S77th-konkussion Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Yes. There is a wide/ narrow FOV on the Maverick itself, plus you can and should be using the optics of the TGP to set up a Maverick strike anyway.. S77th-konkussion Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Lonecrow- you need to get online, bud. Learning this thing 100% on your own is madness.. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Stop flying below 10000' and your anger issues will abate ;) I dont know how you guys see anything. Lonecrow66 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Stop flying below 10000' and your anger issues will abate ;) Yeah but the flight plans of many of the missions call for like 1200ft. Can't strafe from 10000 ft or use rockets either.. I'm just saying they are pretty deadly accurate. I have been missed a few times by AAA but those bmp's are deadly. --- May your takeoffs equal your landings!

There is a wide/ narrow FOV on the Maverick itself, plus you can and should be using the optics of the TGP to set up a Maverick strike anyway.. Yeah I've been having a hard time wrapping my head around using the targetting pod and merging functions for ccrp, laser etc. The tutorials are not quite there. Plus my X52 config can't cover all the hat features because I need a POV hat. So I'm missing a few things and have a hard time remembering which keys.. so while you are trying to line up stuff you have seconds when you are closing on your target. Can't fly too high or you'll get engaged by caps.. --- May your takeoffs equal your landings!

More to the manual I guess.. :) --- May your takeoffs equal your landings!
StrongHarm Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 In the editor this will make any object evade: Advanced > Set Option > Dispersal Under Fire It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
Nate--IRL-- Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) Lonecrow66 I'd suggest mapping "Zoom in slow" and "Zoom Normal" to your joystick. This will make Gun runs and target acquisition by eye much easier. Your monitor can not hope to reproduce the visual definition a real pilot has in cockpit with his Mk1 eyeball, using the zoom goes some way to redress that. Plus my X52 config can't cover all the hat features because I need a POV hat. So I'm missing a few things and have a hard time remembering which keys.. so while you are trying to line up stuff you have seconds when you are closing on your target. I have 1 hat on my stick performing 6 different HOTAS functions. TRIM, SLEW, TMS, DMS, Coolie Hat and countermeasures all on the one hat. The trick is to assign buttons on your stick as modifiers. So for example I hold down Button 7 and use the Hat, I get TMS function, hold down Button 8 and use the hat, I get DMS functions. It becomes quite natural once you get used to it. NoJoe Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Plus my X52 config can't cover all the hat features because I need a POV hat Lonecrow, I have an X52 also, and I've used the pinkie button on the stick as a modifier. For example: - POV hat is POV; with the pinkie switch it's Trim. - The "Castle" hat on the stick is TMS, or DMS with the pinkie. - Throttle slew hat is slew; with the pinkie it's the Coolie Hat. And so on and so forth. I have a picture of the stick/throttle with the functions labelled. If you'd like I can post it here when I get home from work (:music_whistling: I'm on my break right now). It might give you some inspiration on how to efficiently set up your own HOTAS. --NoJoe
StrongHarm Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Check out the X52 profile in my sig.. it works very well for me, and I've received some good feedback from others. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
