On your TGP MFD, on the right side will say LSR. click the OSB for it until you are at IR, then again at BOTH. This will allow you to see the laser with the NVGs.

no working :(

did you turn it on with the NWS button?

gonna rephrase, did you turn the laser on with NWS button? The laser is turned independed from TGP and needs to be turned on with NWS button. Also, if latched is off (default), then the laser will fire only for a short ammount of time.

Also the thing you can see with nv googles is not laser but IR marker.

On the TGP page first hit the "CNTL" button on the left upper corner, then switch "LATCH" to "ON" (right side) go back with "RTN" on the left upper corner.

Now switch the Laser to "IR" or "BOTH" (right side on the MFD).

After that switch the laser on with the NWS button, switch your NVG on and know you should see your IR Pointer :)

Just to reinforce what Winz posted in an earlier reply, with the Night Vision Goggles enabled, at night, you can see the Infra Red (IR) Pointer not the Laser Designator.

Do not expect to "see" the Laser coming out of the Targeting Pod.

Kellerman,

Looks like a laser, but it's really an IR pointing beam.

The Litening pod can produce a laser or an IR beam (or both). The NVG in the sim can detect up low wavelength light like infrared, but not the same wavelengths as the TGP designation laser.

can detect, but i cant see anything with night vision.

i cant see IR on pod, and i see barely the IR from JTAC

OK, there are two lasers, one visible and one infrared.

One is called the laser, the other the IR pointer but they are technically two lasers.

I guess not to confuse the two in a high stress situation.

Not quite, my understanding is that neither laser operates in the visual spectrum. Both, I believe, are technically IR lasers. One is designed to pulse at a specified frequency to guide "laser guided" weapons home.

The other is designed to be visible to night vision equipment and serves as a pointing device like most handheld lasers

System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer

OK, I just presumed the laser was visible since the pointer was infrared. Sometimes one presumes without realizing it...

It makes a lot of sense, otherwise the target would be painted with a very bright light !
