Joe Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 The 9800 eats the 6200 for breakfast. SimHQ Technology Editor TSH member

ED Team Groove Posted June 22, 2005 ED Team Posted June 22, 2005 im using a 9800 pro for almost two years now. great gf card but its getting old. you should consider to buy a new midrange card. it should support directx 9! you should wait for the 6800gt ultra which already dropped in price as nvidia showed they newest beast today ! i cant wait to see lomac benchmarks on the new GeForce 7800 GTX Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Force_Feedback Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 lol, what about the GF 5950 Ultra 256mb? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
VMFA-Blaze Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 lol, what about the GF 5950 Ultra 256mb? Can you still get that card????? I was trying to buy it myself about 2 months ago and found it to be unavilable... And besides the 5900 is getting a little long in the tooth anyway (LOL).... I decided on the 6600 256.... Its really not a bad card and its easy to overclock thanks to Cool Bite which was a down load that came with the software.... I'm waiting to see how the new 7800 stacks up, this new release sounds very interesting and the prices on the 6800 should now decrease substantially as well..... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
WhiskeyRomeo Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 6200 or 9800??? Well the title explains everything...so whitch is better? Exactly which model of the 9800 are you talking about? The nearest price match with a 6200 is probably a 9800SE (SE=Serious Error). How much money are you looking to spend on a new video card? Why not compare the 6600GT to the 9800XT instead? They're close in price.
ROSS_Tracer Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Hi there!!! 1. I think, that 9800 More powerfull (256bit width of memory, more high frenq. core 8 pipelines) then 6200. But! 6200 supported Shader Model 3.0... and... if you fly in Il-2 yet, you will be fine with 6200. 2. 9800 suppoted only AGP bus. 6200 present in PCI-E and AGP configuration. 3. If you want to buy one of this cards... may be right save the money to more powerfull card, like 6600GT, X800 and other? 6200 and 9800 in low-end sector now. 4. If you choise is 9800... more different 9800's.... 9800SE, 9800Pro, 9800XT... and others. Don't give 9800SE!!! it's a stupid class with high-level core and low-level memory (128bit). 5. To take more FPS in LockOn. I think right choise will be 9800 (if you don't want to save money). P.S. Sorry, for my English. Joe Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 A 9800 is not in the low-end. It is still a capable mid-range card. SimHQ Technology Editor TSH member
