shadowze Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) Hmmm my earlier post in this thread seems to have gotten lost somewhere Refund??? Out of curiosity why? Not working? Too hard? Not "finished" enough for you? Just wondering, do not get angry. ;) Great Game (apart of course from the release not having working data exchange) Nope it was the fact that they stuck constant master server connection into the final version on all multiplayer modes and 1. Didn't let us know that they were going to do this. 2. Even now do not clearly list this requirement in the product details on their shop. I would like to be the one who decides when I can play multiplayer not the master server Edited March 4, 2011 by shadowze
Steel Jaw Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Yeah the point to enforcing a master server for online was never adequately explained to us AFAIK. 159th_Viper Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Yeah the point to enforcing a master server for online...... Again - only relevant insofar as LAN issues are concerned. To address the entire issue under the 'Multiplayer' blanket is ludicrous and misleading. You'd think that certain individuals would be attentive enough by now to make the relevant distinction when posting. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Guest Cayenne Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 @Mower I find it unstable and very buggy, Tech support is via a Forum where any idiot smart ass can drop there 2 cents in and pollute Your thread. You hear a lot of "I think, maybe, probably...working on that issue" from the testers and Mods. All of My issues are without solutions at present, most of these were present in beta4 and widely discussed and some mentioned on the beta5 change log. And those that were not are so wide spead that that tells Me DCS/ED did knowingly and deliberately shoved a pig with lipstick out the door to generate revenue. This stuff could of and should of been worked out in a RC phase but the paying pre-release participation in beta was a freakin joke. The documentation is lacking. You are one of the few personalities I have come across that remain professional, the general hostility of this forum reminds Me of Prison Biker gangsters just waiting for some poor uninitiated duck to come wandering in and proudly be the first forum member to attack them. I don't need all this bullsh*t It is a nice "looking" sim and I really enjoyed the flights that work. Very impressive I must say, the complexity-comprehensiveness is second to none. I spent 50 flight hours on beta4 learning...so all of this adds up when you spend over an hour on a flight and Your palms are sweaty, heart rate is up, Your kicking ass, and BAM!!! error, ctd, freeze or some bizarre anomaly with the avionics....almost every packaged flight 3 times a day-I think not, once every 3 months while daily flying like FSX well I guess so.. And the rounding up of 4 or 5 files, copying them to a folder, compressing them and posting in a public forum for tech support is so 1995. When You can buy a plugin module commercially, or pay a college code monkey student a couple of bucks to write You a simple Windows script to do it for You, offer them a copy of Warthog. And again the same thing with no auto updater, and a poorly maintained forum cause me to have to go there daily to check....I don't think so! "Homey don't play that" It reminds Me of a DOS like app (cdrom game) for the military where You WILL use it and You WILL like it! DCS/ED has the attitude that the tail wags the consumer dog. I would pay twice the price if it where brought up to consumer ready standards it is that promising! So suffice to say it ain't for Me, and I would like to part ways........and that being said all My threads are CLOSED

Teeps Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 This isn't gloating, but so far I've had no problems with CTD'ing out of missions or the like, and I'm finding this to be a great purchase. I say this merely to highlight that the problems you experience may be limited to particular hardware configurations or combinations, or some other combination of factors and are by no means universal. That doesn't make them any less real or frustrating for you of course, but might shed light on why there are not instant answers from ED. Steel Jaw Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Well it runs fine for me in general. The trick (or gotcha) with any software is that it is never guaranteed to run properly with every computer, and all software will say so in the EUA. PC specs are just too varied. (That's *THE* major reason why consoles sell so well, you *KNOW* a console game is gonna run perfectly 100% of the time since the hardware is locked down.) My pc is home built from a myariad of parts and I do not expect all software to run properly on it. *NOW* having said that, software *must* offer refunds within 30 days to give the consumer a fair chance. Unfortunately the law has said otherwise and the law is wrong. So, IMHO ED OUGHT to refund you if their software does not run on your pc, it's not their fault, but they should at least play fair and cut the consumer a break. ED: if you do not offer full refunds within 30 days under these circumstances you will directly encourage people to steal your product from torrents etc. Think about it. Guest Cayenne Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) @Mower, I will break radio silence to speak with intelligence. My hardware is very mainstream and common especially in the flight sim community, but what You say is very true. I just can't get any tech support to try and iron out these issues. Those others with similar probs. have some mainstream PC's but really who is it that is serious about flight simulation is using a dell laptop and a walmart joystick? I didn't want to discuss this in public and dog their product and services, it appears many people love it. I have apparently been blackballed I can't seem to get any reply's, threads above and below (My thread with lots of views) are getting reply's... Notice this thread.... I have search and researched these problems almost daily since Jan 19th and frankly I'm tired of reading through hundreds of post so I don't inconvenience the tech support people that would rather attack You than copy a canned statement and paste it.... Hmmm our hardware is very similar Edited March 5, 2011 by Cayenne
Guest Cayenne Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) @Mower, Could You please try this setting? Everybody thinks I'm smoking crack! Its My contention that when You are sitting upright and comfortable for the long haul, that more HUD symbology should be visible. I can lean in with TIR to get to the default eyepoint. And its My belief that the default eyepoint should be a F2 snapview. If You flew around for hours leaning over for gun battle You would be in excruciating pain. The thread will explain more and maybe You can help me find a picture showing exactly where the eyebox is in an A-10.... Notice no replys from the A-team, and what I meant about Joe Blows urinating in Your thread pool. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68821 if the incommunicado is because of previous discussion I can't find it. effte Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Man, that's rotten luck. Everyone else gets lots of nice and friendly replies, and yet you are met by hostility wherever you go and no one seems interested in spending their time helping you they way they are happy to help others. If at least a common denominator could be found, some reason why this happens to you but not to others... but alas, it is a mystery without explanation. My sympathies. /Joe Blow ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.
