Salutations.

I will be buying A-10C soon I hope, and I have a questions I would like to ask first:

1- Does anyone know where to get a good price on the HOTAS Warthog? Getting it is one of my pre-requisites before purchasing the game (I want the full experience *grin*).

2- Has there been any news about a printed manual? I waited for DCS to publish theirs before buying Black Shark, and I might do the same for A-10C. Unless..

3- Does anyone know of a good solution for getting the manual printed in the US? I've read posts about having it printed from some websites, but prices were in euros so I imagine there are better options for the US.

4- I heard mention of tutorials and training documents written by posters here, but can't find them on the forum (they're not listed in the appropriate sticky post, for example). Anybody know where I might find those?

Thank you.

The best way to learn the A-10 easy and quick is to find a online squardon with active members and ask for a training.

A cheap TM Warthog... hm.... try to find a online shop.

A printed manual? Find a print office and print it. ;)

I'd rather stick to manuals and single player, quite frankly (my playtime makes online play difficult).

As for the rest, well the whole reason for my post is to ask if anyone found good solutions to those questions already. :)

Unfortunately I have not found any particularly good deals on the TM Warthog - I think I ended up paying around US$475.00 for mine through Amazon.

In addition to the manual there are a number of other documents you will probably want to read, most of which can be found through the sticky manuals and documents thread on this forum.

I use an iPad to read the manual and other documentation, and I recommend the approach if you have access to nearly any e-reader (e.g., Kindle, Nook, iPad, etc.). Many people get the PDF manual printed through Kinkos or a similar print shop. You can save some cost, size and weight by having things printed in a "booklet" format, which is double-sided, half-size, so you get four pages printed on each 8-1/2 x 11 sheet.

well ive had the Tm WH for about 2 weeks and its awsome. The stick is first rate and has no deadzones what so ever, Ive never had a stick before that didnt have a deadzone hehe. It also feels more solid so thats a bonus. Not too much force needed to move it but more then my old x52.

The throttle on the other hand looks fantastic but I dont think it was build with the same care. Just yesterday 1 of the green backlights failed and I know other ppl who have noticed they fail alot. It works really well though since the new target version came out I turned all the LEDs off except 1 of the 5 selectable ones at the top (this is so I know its turned on :megalol:)

I think the stick is more than worth the money so its ok.

Aye, I want the Warthog with a passion. I just need to ensure I can get the manual printed properly, and also a good stretch of time to really immerse myself in the sim.

Does anyone know if the final manual can be downloaded before purchase? I have the beta one (forgot its password, mind you).

Yea, i initally had some problems with my throttle aswell, completely died on me, contacted thrustmaster and they replaced it within a week or two and the new one has been working liek a charm ever since. I havent tried the target software at all though, i dont need it for DCS A-10C :D

Note on the warthog stick....that is a serious good buy matie :)

The sim: still learning and the mission editor is big enough to challenge you in any way your might think of :)

the manual: I keep it handy on my laptop (easier if you have that option).

too big if printed imo 600 + pages on your lap while flying is a tad too much :)

the future: fast jet(type?) + low level cas (a-10) + helicopter mob ob and recon (ka-50) well that's enough for a very cool online experience ;).

so go get it and be ready to learn and just remember we have all been at the start plate(although some don't show as they were but they WERE trust me ;))

OS: Win10 home 64bit*MB: Asus Strix Z270F/

GFX: Nvidia Asus 1080 8Gb

Mon: Asus vg2448qe 24"

Disk: SSD

Stick: TM Warthog #1400/Saitek pro pedals/TIR5/TM MFDs
