rispeed Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Hello, Ive installed Windows XP on my system for the sole reason of playing DCS. I know that no matter what you do, you cannot do a horizontal span in windows 7 (thus making my resulution 3840x1080) So no matter what i do with windows 7 i can only use one monitor. Is it possible in windows 7 to have the camera on one screen and the shkval on the other screen as is done quite easily in XP? its the only reason i have XP and id like to get rid of it.
AlphaOneSix Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I do horizontal span in Windows 7 just fine...or maybe I am thinking of something different. At any rate, I use a laptop (1440x900) and a monitor (1680x1050) and in DCS I set my resolution to 3120x1050 and it works like a champ. I use the 1680x1050 for my main screen and my two MFCDs share the 1440x900 (each using 720x720).
emtguf Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 you can do both in windows 7 with no problem. I have done both horizontal span, and shkval/abris on win 7 32 and 64 bit.
rispeed Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 thats awesome... how! lol all i can do in windows 7 in the nvidia control panel is extend the desktop like 2 monitors i cant make it one giant screen the way DCS uses... I dont have the option to do 3840x1080 when i go into the game in windows 7.
CAT_101st Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I also have 2 screens in Win7. With the ABRIS on the second screan with no problems. My second screen is a 16" WS standing on end. I tried 4 screans but wound up only using 3 due to FPS hit. I get about 35-60FPS with gauges (BSVP 1.0) main screen and the moving map witch is allined to the right of the main screan. CAT_101st Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 You need to edit some lua. files to make it work. Do a search there is pleanty of threads that show how to do it. 1 Home built PC Win 10 Pro 64bit, MB ASUS Z170 WS, 6700K, EVGA 1080Ti Hybrid, 32GB DDR4 3200, Thermaltake 120x360 RAD, Custom built A-10C sim pit, TM WARTHOG HOTAS, Cougar MFD's, 3D printed UFC and Saitek rudders. Haggart Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Guys, it works in Win7 also fullscreen - the solution is SoftTh - GOTO http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69791&page=4 - PeterP is the man (; There's no "Overkill". There's only "open fire!" and "time to reload". Specs: i7-980@4,2Ghz, 12GB RAM, 2x GTX480, 1x 8800GTS, X-Fi HD, Cougar, Warthog, dcs-F16-pedals

MTFDarkEagle Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 If you use SoftTH you will be able to use fullscreen! Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
PeterP Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) If you use SoftTH you will be able to use fullscreen! Only with SofTH 2.0.4 :* SoftTH v2.04 alpha test version * The 64bit version is for 64bit applications The 32bit version is for 32bit applications e.g. when you use DCS:Blackschark on Win7x64 you will have to use the 32bit version because BS is a 32bit application. PeterP Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) :)(I found that out the hard way..., but thankfully there was PeterP, the master of multimonitor, to help!) Thanks, but by no means I'm the master - I just read the ReadMe's and know how to use the search function in forums :P . And I'm good with Maths. But not at all a Master! Edit: @rispeed Here is a "how to" written for DCS:Warthog - but If you use the 32bit version of SoftTH it's basically the same even if you have only two screens. Post if you have difficulties. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1135561#post1135561 Edited March 21, 2011 by PeterP
