Shootist Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Ok. How does a fella find the lights for this type of start? A little head mounted flashlight would be nice. I kind of groped around and found the battery and interior spot lamps dial with the help of the tool tips but without it may have been impossible. OPPSpectre Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 There are a couple of things that you can do, you can turn on your Night Vision Goggles by using RShift + H, the Emergency Flood Lights switch located just above the Battery Power Switch on the right side of the cockpit, or you can just hit L (I believe) to turn on preset lighting conditions, I might be thinking of the FC2 shortcut, however.
nomdeplume Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 NVGs should be self-powered, so you can use them as a temporary flashlight. Otherwise just use a keyboard shortcut for the emergency flood lights (not bound by default, listed as Emergency Flood in the Electrical power control panel category), or use the tooltips. A real pilot can just feel around and will know where the switch is. Though in the case of a real pilot, the ground crew have probably already switched the lights on while prepping the aircraft.
Niggleworth Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 The profile I use has the Emergency Floods mapped to a switch on my X52 stick so it's available all the time. CarneyUK Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Yo, groundie......bring that torch over, I can't see my switches (OK it's not modelled in the sim!! LOL) "The sky is not the limit.....it's my playground!!" @paraglidecass
Speed Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 You might want to check your monitor's brightness settings or turn off some bright lights in your room? Even on the darkest of night starts, I find it easy to see the first initial switches you need to hit (battery on, emergency flood on).
