104th Server R-77 For Su-27 & MiG-29G NATO Mod!

I think Yoda is looking to start work on LEAVU3 ... with no restrictions this time, and no appeasing people with artificial limitations to the types of targets transmitted or super slow dlink update rates.

Congrats to Yoda for his new work. Someone that worked so hard for free and shared his work for free deserves it.

 

This topic has split off a bit into other mods and security online...

 

I guess it is just the way it is. Look at the RAF server. They lock down everything. No custom 3D plane models or anything.

 

Then there are online games that allow no customization. A program like Punkbuster will kick you out of the server for any mods. ArmA has a descent system. The server can setup certain mods to be allowed. Then you can join the server whether or not you have the allowed mod! Perfect.

 

It may be however, that mods and security will never mix online. You lock down the game code so the only version of the sim online is the one that was released by the developer. I hope I am wrong and the future sees some possible solutions in DCS.

From my flying 27's armed with R-77's don't effect anything. You treat them just as you would if they had 27ER's. They don't have the surprise of a silent shot, once they fire the 77 you'll know. Look at how many times the people that fly the F-15 a lot have been shot down by R-77's....I don't think it is that high......I would say it's around the same as the ER.

 

What I feel: is that having R 77 at Su 27 – gives me more window to fight with F 15.

One to one, face to face.

Having R 77 with active head on Su 27gives opportunity to come closer to aim with max speed and maneuvers option. I can follow my lunch at the beginning and do turn in time (loosing rocket tracking), knowing that my R 77 will try to find my aim.

Having 4 R 77 + 2 ET on board looks more attractive pay load than anything before.

I’d say that for Su 27 with new payload efficiency would increase up to 30%.

Comparing Su with Mig with similar payload – Mig has big disadvantage as fuel consumption vs fuel availability on board. If its face to face (Mig is not hiding), Mig has 1 max 2 turns to attack F 15, than he has to escape at MAX speed (low fuel).

If will try to save fuel:

- you have to do lower speed turns, which will lead to meet with AIM 120;

- you have to have above position than F 15 to have opportunity to lunch earlier and use excessive altitude for maneuvering (but one time per flight);

So fuel – biggest disadvantage of Mig vs Su = this was the most reason why people doesn’t use MIG at long distance mission.

Now days with Su 27 with R 77 – just matter of time when people will test a flavor of all the beauty of this mod.

They feed up with cheaters, who set up visualization to the way that they see aim form 60-80 km visually, as you see it at 20 km.

 

But still cheaters, who playing with ping some how, annoying community, when at the range 10 km when R 73 coming close to him, he start to jump up and down across whole screen as thunder light…

I know, and one or two like to join our server.....;) I got tracked by a player 75km visual, in my MiG-29G pretty hard to see in my case but anyway..

well, u can only report a stranger to the host admins via PM on there webside, including a track and tacview and a short brief what happend. admins will look into it and keep a eye on the player, track IP`s and possible nick names, if he keeps doing it, he will be catched anyway, resulting in a ban...

Serg23, look at the people that fly the F-15 more, they still aren't getting killed by 77's more then they were by ER's. It gives you a fire and kinda forget weapon, but you lose range and speed compared to the ER. Yes the fuel is a problem for most people in the 29, that's cause they don't use it effectively. You don't stay in AB a long time. Jets don't use AB like you see people doing it online. If real jets did that there would be all sorts of problems.

Cali, remember last weekend, 104th, you (F 15) and me (Su27 + mod). You destroy may plain finally, but how, after my 3rd turn to fire at you…

That’s for me was possible only because I have had R 77.

If I would have old version of payload (ER) I’d do only one attack, than escape for long distance or I’d go face to face with ET or 73 … But for sure last option would be end of my and your flight.

 

We are, user of Su 27, just at the beginning of study which way we need to change our tactic in order to use more effectively R 77 advantage.

 

Lets wait few month more, community will pick it up! It our squad we just at the beginning of training process with R 77, and I’d say that we changing 50% of tactic in terms of 2 F 15 vs 2 Su 27 (R 77).

 

Ps1: my score at 104th raised up to 31 place from fare second half of first hundreds, but its just mater of flight time. For me flight possibility is only early morning weekend days.

 

PS 2: Su 27 has 10 minutes MAX to have AB regime continues, after that he mast have mach easer regime.

I do not know regarding F 15.

I'm not really sure what you expected Cali. As you already stated, the 77 has its cons. Its no super missile. It doesn't magically transform the platform in any way, but, it gives a few options for those that use it. Allows a little different playstyle. Many of the guys carry the ER/ET/77 mix so it isn't a full replacement either.

I didn't expect anything and like I said you still get the warning as soon as they fire the 77. The only thing now is that I don't know if it's a ER or 77 coming at me. With the ER I know it's faster and has a longer range, so I can gauge what and how I'm going to fight the missile. Disadvantage with the ER is holding lock, but you have to hold lock with the 77 to a certain point.

 

 

 

Serg23, I don't remember that fight, but they were a few good battles last week. Looking forward to more this up coming weekend :) That's good that you moved up to 31th place in the stats. But with practice you could do the same thing without R-77's on the 27. 51st squad does very well at this already. Tactics and training play a big part in how you fight and live.

I did my steps by my self only, as single fighter. Only because this mod. I feel mach stronger position now, as I sad, + 30% efficiency vs origin payload.

In my experience - flying as SHOGUN, maybe RIPTIDE remembers me from last night :smilewink: - this hasn't really changed anything.

 

Whilst the capability gap has been closed a bit, it hasn't been reversed. Correctly identifying your airframes strengths and weaknesses leads to the same strategies as before. Only now you have some Flanker pilots deciding to try and go head to head with the Eagle in a high altitude joust, still outranged by the Eagle, still without multiple target silent TWS launches. Still not going to win against an equally skilled pilot.

 

The cunning flanker pilots - hi airbat! - will still be sneaking up on you and launching before you've even seen them. They just might kill you with a 77 instead of an ER/ET, but you're going down in flames regardless!

Right, what is the point of a squadron if you do 1v1? Personal skills are honed by each pilot on their own or through experience. As far as our trainings and what we do, well join us and pass our exams - see for yourself! ;)

 

Tactics in an SU-27 vs F-15... in 1v1 scenario... whoever makes the first mistake is dead regardless of airframe. It doesn't matter if he has AIM-120Gs (GangSTAR Modification with 150 damage multiplier and cross-continent waypoints) or R-60As (water warheads)... both craft will keep exchanging missiles until either depleted or in WVR which then evolves into BFM. In multiplayer scenarios, I personally find opponents eager for a kill [i fight such urges myself all the time]... thus they are extremely aggressive and gamble with personal safety which leads to their downfall.

 

If an F-15C fires at you first... it is really dumb to press... vice versa... if an SU-27 fires at you first... it is really dumb to not do anything about it, simple as that.
