Hi, I don't know here is the right place to open this topic but I got a suggestion. As you know Steam and other digital stores are making great deals like weekend deals, midweek deals and etc... But I didn't see any price cut for DCS games on these deals. Maybe Eagle Dynamics will make deals on Steam for their games in future so a lot of gamers can buy the games on these deals. It would be really good for multiplayer and for the company. Think, in these deals everyone is buying something surely. Thanks.

Yeah the game just came out, heh. I think $59 is a bit steep as a base price, considering most AAA games cost $49 these days. But I personally find ED's work to be worth it regardless.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a sale anytime soon. $60 is becoming the norm for new titles these days and A10C was just released. I remember paying $50 for Wasteland back in 1988, the first PC game I ever bought. That price point stuck around for about 20-years amazingly enough.

A10C is worth every penny, I can't say the same for the majority of games these days.

True, I must have 40 some games on my steam account. Almost every one of them is $50-$60. And probably 90% or more I played less than 1 hour because they sucked. DSCW is worth 3x what they charged I think.

I have about as many but after a while I made myself promise to only buy from Steam when its on sale...don't feel as bad later. If its a must have, paying full price, I usually just buy the box version anyway.

In the case of DCSW it would have been worth shipping ED blank DVDs and still paying full price!

Something being "worth" certain price depends what the person likes initially. A person not into flight simulations witll find this one too expensive... if it's very cheap he might buy it just to try it because he won't care much if it's not good as he wouldn't pay much for it.

For a person who does like flight simulations and knows how much details is put into DCS modules the price for A-10C is not much at all... I certainly don't think it's high at all and would not expect ED to sell it cheaper for at least 2 years... maybe once next DCS module is out they can reduce the price of this one.

For what you get with DCS A-10C it's very good value at price it's at right now. The thing you have to "worry about" is if you do get into it you will want HOTAS and other flight gear (TrackIR, rudder pedals etc) and then this hobby starts to get expensive :) but at the same time... a sim like this can be apreciated for many years and all the hardware you buy is good buy if you use it fo years and doesn't seem too expensive over years of good use.

No kidding...

Since I bought it, new Saitek X-52Pro and a Dell U2711 Monitor (the 22" was just fine until a month ago) so that adds up to well over ten times the price of the game and I still need Track IR, PC Upgrade...

The years to come part is that I will still be learning...and loving it.

Ill pay up to 100$, without having second thoughts, for those excellent products ED makes and supports whit various patches/bugfixes.

Don't let ED know though, they might raise the price on the next module.

This is where trading standards need to step in, the prices they charge for some games aren't justified. ED's sim's are worth the money and more though.

One thing they could do which would be nice is to keep the price the same for the people who are venturing into flight sim's. For the people who believe it's worth more they could set up some sort of donation system.

I agree, setting the price too high might scare off potential [future] customers. It would scare me off if I was new to the genre and unsure about spending that kind of money on something I knew nothing about.

As for setting a up a donation system, ED could sell mods like 777 is doing with RoF. The upcoming Nevada map update could be an indication that's what they plan on doing because it won't be free. A lot of companies seem to be leaning towards this model though.

I have RoF but don't really care for it, at least not at the moment. Admittedly I purchased it on a whim thinking I could relive my Red Baron 3D days, which I could, but A10C has me sucked in hook line and sinker right now and nothing else interests me.

I would, without hesitation, pay $100+ for new, well-made combat flight sims. It's a niche genre, and the devs need all the help they can get so they can carry on making more of them.

Maybe set the retail price at $50-60 and then incorporate some kind of donation system on top?
