Yep. Set your TACAN to A/A TR mode, hit TCN on the NMSP, then range should be provided in the upper left of your HSI.

That's a lot of acronyms. Hm.

This always provides a bearing, but it doesn't seem to always provide a distance. I thought aircraft were all supposed to be on Y (yankee) TACAN channels, but after making a mission where I left the tanker on an X (x-ray) channel, then I finally starting seeing a range on the HSI. Am I just smoking something here, or does the tanker really have to be on an x-ray TACAN channel to have range displayed?

Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.

If my memory serves me right, it doesnt matter which channel you use, the main reason tankers used to set Y channels is just so they didn't accidently interfere with an airfield tacan freq which were all X.

Probably a sim issue, but if you're not in TR mode it should only give a bearing. Could be you accidentally left set it to receive only mode?
