jpanside Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I am getting the TrackIR5 soon as I found it extremely inefficient to constantly LALT+C everywhere. But before I buy I was wondering if any of the users could tell me if they see a frames per second drop when using the TrackIR to look around. I am hoping this is not the case.

159th_Falcon Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Yes, and no. Thing is, when looking around you may see your fps changing, where before TIR that wasn't the case. Though, this is more likely to be because your looking at something different, that's loading the system more, then that it is TIR doing its work. But yes, TIR is an application, and applications use system resources, so fps would go down a wee bit, if you notice it is something different altogether though. jotaele Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 When you first time get a trackir unit, it can be dificult and frstating, but its a matter of time than you feel like you are there, experiment with diferents settings and curves, and you will get the best tool for any sim since the joystick.Good luky and enjoy. Fly and let fly
jpanside Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 ^is it difficult to adjust the settings to one that works well?
arekkusup Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 No it just takes some time for you to adjust to it, once you do though it becomes 2nd nature like they said best thing since the joystick
Buzpilot Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Also depends a lot on resolution. I remember using 24" screen 1900x1200, was ok with Trackir5 and GTX460. But when i changed to a 30" 2560x1600, fps was still ok, but tearing was aweful. Changed to a GTX580, and it's quite nice now. i5 4670 - Sabertooth Z87- GTX Titan - Dell U3011 30" - 2x8GB RAM 1800 - Samsung 840 EVO 512GB SSD - Warthog HOTAS - CH Pro pedals - TrackIR5 - Win7 64bit EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
